The world seems to be coming apart at the seams—bullets flying here, tanks rolling there, and despots of all shapes and sizes thumping their chests and making threats.... and that’s if you’re still paying attention, and not already rolled up in fetal-position over the price of milk, gasoline, and rent. There are people who swear by the calming influence of essential oils, particularly when volatilized in a candle. If you’re already in that camp, maybe the “DANIAU Candle Making Kit for Adults” is for you. “Candle Making Kit” is almost and understatement, here. In the box you’ll find wax, wicks, a selection of essential oils, tins and jars to cast the candles in, dye blocks to change the wax’s color, and accessories like gloves, a scalding (prevention) pad, and wick-centering gizmos. Apparently there are two versions of this kit, one with and one without a wax-melter. The kit I ordered includes the melter. That’s a VERY comprehensive collection of candle-making stuff. There are eight different essential oils in this kit, and according to people who claim to know, many have beneficial effects. The Internet says that candles with lavender or jasmine oils may get you out of your fetal-position and upright to catch the next round of “crises” on CNN. (You’re in a fragile state so, for now, let’s ignore the fact that candles produce greenhouse gases.) To be clear, I think the “for Adults” moniker in the description has more to do with the inherent danger of handling molten, liquid, wax, than any implied capability of the kit to cast bachelorette-party favors. But, hey, if you can find a suitable mold, exactly what kind of candle you make is entirely up to you. ... show more

The only thing missing is a wax warmer, but they are easy enough to come by. It is a great rainy day project with the kids, and the instructions are great. Packaging is nice and the candles (not made by the youngest) turned out wonderful.

This is a kit that includes everything you need to make many scented candles. It includes several packets of soy wax beads, small but colorful wax dye squares, small candle tins with various Galaxy designs, a set of essential oils to make the candles scented, a metal stirring spoon, a set of wicks, and despite the product listing telling me that it did not include this, mine also included the electric wax melter. Candle making can be very simple and despite the high heat needed to melt the wax initially, it is a relatively safe hobby. This kit contains enough pieces for the whole family to get involved and there are enough empty candle tins for everyone to make at least a few of their own customized candles. The wax melter is fast, efficient, and does not overcook the wax. That reduces the risk of burns and also keeps the integrity of the gentle soy wax. The cubes of colored dyes are bright and bold, and they melt and mix in with the colorless wax perfectly. Each serving of wax in the melter only needs a tiny fraction of a die cube to give it a bright bold color. The essential oils are not the highest quality I have worked with, but they are fine for entry level candle making. Overall this kit contains everything you need to learn the art of candle making and have some fun with your family. Even if you are not a crafty person, ordering this product means you have an evening of entertainment and fun craft making with the family. This is without a doubt the best candle making starter kit that I have ever seen and used. This kit comes with literally everything you need to get started with the basic essentials, along with an easy to follow guide on how to make the candles. It includes the wax warmer, the wax, the wicks, the wick holders, gloves, silicone mat, fragrance oils, candle jars, candle color dyes, etc. With this kit specifically, it includes everything needed to make several candles right out of the box. The warmer itself heats up very quickly, and I found that the wax was easier to melt than I was expecting, and within minutes I was ready to add the fragrance oils and color dyes. After pouring into the mini candle jars, it only took a few minutes to mostly set up and within an hour, each candle was fully set up and ready to go. The scents are also very strong, so it is nice that there are several scents to choose from, and the oils will be more than enough to make future candles long after the majority of this kit has been used up. Overall, this couldn't be an easier candle making kit to get started with. The candles are so easy to make that whether you get this as a gift for somebody, or use it yourself to make the candles to also give as gifts, it's perfect either way. It's a fun, relaxing way to pass time on your own or with others, and makes the perfect arts and craft experience. I highly recommend it! ... show more

Love it! Got it to make candles with my daughter and we had a lot of fun with it! It came with everything needed and the inclusions are quite extensive. You get the manual of course, to generous sized bags of wax, 8 different scent oils, 10 centering devices, 12 blocks of dye, 4 candle tins, 4 candle jars, 20 gule stickers, 10 warning stickers, 10 wicks, a silicone trivet or pad, pair of gloves, spoon, pen, and 10 wax paper discs. They give you plenty to get yourself going and you can supplement all this as you wish with other dyes, scents, or vessels to put the candle in. I found the melting pot to be pretty robust and easy to use. The included jars are pretty. Instructions were easy and fun. You do have to be careful and wear the gloves plus use the silicone pad in the interest of protecting yourself and the surrounding stuff. But this is a great kit to get someone just getting into candle making or to get as a something to do with a loved one! Recommended! ... show more
