My favorite thing about this kit is that it comes with essential oils instead of fragrance oils, so you know what's going into the candles. The kit I got has everything except the wax melter, but if you don't have one, they have a kit where it's included as well. The instructions are decent enough, but not perfect. It's not as daunting as it first seems to be once you get going though. I did notice some reviews mention that the packaged wax didn't match the amount needed for the included tins, and this is true, but this is how it will likely always be when making candles, your wax should be measured (by weight) before being melted to make sure you have the correct amount for your finished candles. I'd recommend experimenting with colors and scents (start small and add as needed) to get a feel for how much works for your personal preference as it is much less of a science than something like soapmaking. Making candles should be fun and rewarding, and I believe that this kit includes all the things to make it easy and frustration-free.

I was excited for this when i ordered it but immediately was disappointed with the oils it comes with. I definitely should have known better but these are definitely bottom grade oils that really won't make great impressions to anyone i had planned to gift the candles too.

The wax isn’t soy wax it’s paraffin wax so definitely won’t be buying this again

For a beginner, I felt so uncertain with this kit. I wish there was more detailed instructions. How much wax do I use to fit the jars included? How much of the dye? How many drops of essential oils are suggested? It is very hard to tell what color the dye blocks are, I wish they were labeled. I used one whole pack of the wax beads but there was still a good amount left over when I filled one jar, but not enough to fill another jar and I didn't want to waste it. So I had to guess how much to fill another. Given this, I really enjoyed making the candles. I enjoy the little additions such as writing a message to include and the pen to go with it. The jars are absolutely beautiful! I thought I put enough oils but couldn't smell them once the candles cooled. I had to buy the wax warmer separately and it took absolutely forever for the wax to melt, and I turned it way up to get it to go. But it was easy to use and didn't overheat and easy to clean.

Great candle making kit, the colors are nice, I love the tins, especially the colored ones. The heat gloves included in this are spectacular, wish more kits thought to include them. Those alone make this kit worthwhile in my book.

The header description on this kit is misleading. There is no wax warmer included in this kit; that is made clear in the fuller description provided, but not in the "title." The rest of the kit is very nice. Everything is included to make candles EXCEPT the wax warmer. The directions keep referring to the warmer as well, which does not really help. It would also be helpful if the directions gave a clue as to how much wax to melt for each candle and a guide as to how much dye or scent to use. Unfortunately, it does not really address this. Sorry guys, you lose two stars for the title and the lack of directions. Regardless, it is a very nice set, very suitable for gifting, and has only those two drawbacks. I am looking forward to using it for a family craft day.

It took me awhile to get to review this because I was waiting for a weekend my daughter's and I could do it together. Finally we got the chance to sit down and make a candle. This has everything you need from start to finish to make a design your own little candle. Which I greatly appreciate it. We had a good time and now that we've done it we can make more. It's a very nice complete kit and I do recommend it if you've been wanting to try your hand at candle making.
