I tried this product in a few different places, and it worked in some locations but not in others. For enclosed rooms/ spaces, it seemed to work fairly well. No rat issues after I set out the repellent balls. However, in places that have vented openings (such as sheds/ garages), it did not seem to resolve any rat issues. Overall, the product does work in the right spaces, and the scent is not too overpowering depending on how many you set out for the enclosed rooms (small storage rooms = 2 repellents). As the Fall approaches and temperature drops, the field mice in our backyard tries to make it into indoor where it's warmer for the winter. That's when I find many mice droppings inside the garage and in my shed in the backyard. I have mice traps but I have to check them often since I don't want to leave dead mice unattended for very long time as they leads to other problems. I got this mouse repellent from Vine and it's perfect for me as it helps repel field mice since they don't like peppermint scent. It came inside a sealed bag, which contained 12 individually wrapped balls. I was able to smell the strong peppermint even before opening the wrap and this is great since it also adds fresh peppermint scent to my garage and shed. Very easy to place them in the corner or under the storage shelf. I simply rolled these into 4 corners of my shed and garage. I really like the peppermint scent as my shed was very damp and had moldy/mildew odor. These balls acts as a fragrance oil for my shed while driving and keeping the field mice out of my shed. 5 out of 5 stars!. ... show more

You're gonna want to really limit this to enclosed spaces, because although there is a peppermint smell, there is a strong under odor of something very musky and earthy. Not sure which one it is, maybe the cinnamon. I put this in an upstairs closet and the smell came out from around the door so strong that I could smell it downstairs. The smell didn't dissipate considerably for like 2 weeks. I'm not positive what the effect is on the mouse that kept going in there. I have heard it in the wall trying to get past the newly wired hole, but it hasn't. It still wants to though which makes me wonder... ... show more

I can't speak to how well they repel rodents. I moved to a new apartment and while I was cleaning found some mouse droppings... I have not seen a mouse yet but I put some traps down and have put these scent balls where the droppings were. I am really hoping not to see a mouse and it's been about a month and I haven't seen one. Hopefully these keep them away!! I will update my review if one shows up but I am praying that I won't have to do that. ... show more

Previously, there were always mice running around in the backyard of my house, which made me extremely annoyed. Later, a friend recommended using this peppermint rodent repellent, and the results were truly astonishing! As long as I placed it at the doorway, window edges, or areas where mice could potentially enter or exit, there were no more visits from mice! Moreover, the scent is quite refreshing for humans; it's nothing like the pungent odor of other rodent repellents. I recommend it to friends who are as troubled by mice as I was! ... show more

I got these for my mother's yard. Whey they torn down the old abandoned houses around her; it left some rats behind. We put these out there in the yard and found a few rats dead the next day.. Is super easy to use, we just took the balls out the package and threw them under the house where the rats live now. It doesn't smell like much of anything to me, but everyone is different. This item is super useful if you have rats you want to get rid of. I give this item a 5 of of 5 for me. ... show more
