I've used these before and they are effective. Rodents don't like the smell of peppermint.I used to soak cotton wool in peppermint oil and throw it around my attic after a family of squatting squirrels moved in and decided to reshape the rafters and make bedroom furniture out of my wooden picture frames and strip the stuffing out of my childhood teddies for pillows But the cotton wool solution doesn't last long and I have to keep top it up so I use these now and they're really good. They last so much longer. I don't mind them living in my shed but it's the late night mouse parties and wood gnawing competitions they have that keep me awake... The place is always a lively the next morning. So these pouches I can definitely recommend. They're effective and they work. (I wonder if they make a repellent to ward off noisy neighbors ... em, now that would be worth buying) ... show more

I have used peppermint oil mouse and rat repellent before in an indoor situation and found that all mouse droppings ceased in the area where it had been applied. As spring and summer approach, I'm now considering using it outdoors, but I do wonder how effective it will remain when exposed to the weather. Last year I was puzzled when my heavily laden strawberry plants suddenly lost all their fruit, even while it was still green and unripe. I had watched a rat amble down towards the strawberry bed but not made any connection until I checked other gardeners' experiences online and discovered that rodents were the likely berry thieves. So when the strawberries start to form fruit in a few weeks' time I shall try these sachets on the strawberry bed. Until then, I'm going to place one in the compost bin, which is certainly visited by rats if not already inhabited by them. Similar peppermint sachets have worked for me in the past so these are well worth giving a try. ... show more

Inside the bag are 8 sachets filled with a powder. According to the instructions you can use this bag indoors and it is safe for pets. The claim is that this is a natural and humane way to repel rodents from your home. It is made with a blend of essential oils that rodents find unpleasant. Once the sachet is opened the scent is not unpleasant to humans. There is a claim that the repellent effect lasts for 60-90 days. We have a family of rats that have moved in next to our compost heap - so I will apply this and update if the rats decide to leave. Dealing with rodents in an old countryside home proved challenging. Traditional traps felt inhumane and it’s very troublesome to deal with. Decided to try a more natural approach. These peppermint oil pouches were surprisingly effective. Placed them in known problem areas and noticed a significant decrease in activity. The scent is strong but not unpleasant, blending into the background after a few days. Appreciated the ease of use and the peace of mind knowing it's safe around pets. I don't know how I can see if this repellents pouches are really working or not.They are very simple to use, but they are just 8 in the pack.We have mice at home and because they say can be used indoors and outdoors I decided to place them inside my house, I didn't see any around for a while so at the moment, they look great to me and I recommend them. ... show more

We had a rat who had taken up residence under our decking. Due to having a dog I don’t want to use rat poison, so bought these instead. I placed two under our decking, one each end, and one under the bush he had been using to pick up the birdseed that the birds drop. After a couple of days it was clear that ratty had moved on and it’s now been a week with no sight or evidence of him still being around. It did not repel mice. A mouse chewed holes in it 2 different days. They also got some of the stuff inside out so I am assuming they ate that too.

I bought these to deter a squirrel trying to make a nest in my loft, so I placed these pouches in the area where I saw the squirrel.The try and stop them coming back I deployed a couple of these. The smell of peppermint is very strong at first. Surprisingly, the squirrel and his family do not seem to like these.Hopefully, the squirrel still be able smell it and be deterred. ... show more
