Most dust boots I looked at has the brush also go under where the hose connects. When working with wood it's often 3/4" thick or more so the front of the dust boot can suck in air. Also any chips that isn't sucked up by the dust collector can come out from under the brush. This design is much better to prevent it. The PVC is durable and plenty strong. The snaps that hold the front half on work very well. With the front removed there's plenty of room to get wrenches on the spindle nut. Being PVC it can be modified to work with your specific CNC machine. Plus it uses a 4" dust hose so less restrictions. Over all it's a good design. ... show more

I have been fighting the dust my 4ft X 4ft CNC produces for years. I have made a few spindle boots, 3D printed some, and purchased some, none really worked. They all put dust all over my shop, especially cutting MDF. I purchased this boot and mounted it on my CNC and connected it to my Wen shop vacuum with a 4-inch hose. Ran a few simple cuts to see how it did and was totally amazed at how well it worked. Absolutely NO dust on my table. I posted a few pictures of it mounted on my home-built CNC. From the first photo, you can see the test cut with the new boot (left side) and dust present to my old dust pickup (right side), like night and day. This functioned very well but because of its size I really had to take into consideration where to clamp my workpiece so it wouldn't hit my clamps while machining. It is also unfortunate that they expect you to buy a another unit of the same exact thing if you want to switch to a smaller diameter spindle instead of being able to buy just the adapter. ... show more

This is well made and thought out. The clicking mechanism isn't my favorite and the first one broke after not much use. I had to throw a screw in and unscrew it every time to get through a few jobs. The seller handled this even after buying months ago and the new one is slightly different--so perhaps it'll be more robust. For the money and value I'd say this is a great one to purchase. There are steel ones that may be more durable--but for something lightweight, from Amazon, and nice looking I'd say this isn't a bad one to consider provided you treat it nicely. ... show more

I had made a dust shoe for the CNC router that I built. The old shoe was cumbersome and created more problems than it solved. The new shoe went on easily and works well. I use a shop vacuum to remove the dust and was concerned that it would not work well with the new shoe but it keeps the surface clean. The shoe comes apart easily to adjust the zed and goes back on just as easily. The shoe is secure during operation. I am very pleased with how it works and with its ease of operation. ... show more

one of the ears you slide onto ...broke on mine the first week. not a happy camper. I purchased another one ...the ears that slide in the the part that is attached to the spindle broke on both of them....fool me once shame on me.....
