Size: 4/4-Left handed
Love at first sight! Real wood, properly aged, grown in Europe, hand carved in California USA! Varnish that isn't too thick or shiny. Real maple table, finely flamed two-piece spruce back! Pegs are properly fitted, so the violin was easy to tune, with one fine tuner. When I practiced it, I found that it was extremely easy to play with good intonation. Stopping two strings with one finger easily gives a perfect fifth. The violin is set up very nicely, with the amount of bridge curvature I would expect for an intermediate-level student. Initially the tone was somewhat muted, which means it had not been played very much recently. The muting was less pronounced after an hour's playing, and it continues to project more and more as I continue playing it. After 2.6 years' lessons on a beginner instrument, I am very grateful to have one that looks and sounds like a hand-carved violin! The case, with violin and two bows in it, weighs approximately 5 pounds. I happen to be right-handed, with injuries to my left hand. I would highly recommend this instrument to anyone who bows with their left hand. ... show more

Got this for my daughter's 3rd birthday, I was pleasantly surprized by the quality. It is a very nice-sounding little violin! Awesome bow! I wish I had one like that when I was a kid (it's even better than my own bow). Thank you! Would buy again!

    • You don't necessarily need a left-hand violin if you're left handed.

I bought this for my son who is left-handed, but it didn't feel right for him, so I returned it. You should do some research on this, and of course it is a personal decision. My son was very impressed with the look and sound of this violin. I've ordered a more expensive right-handed violin from the same company D Z Strad, through Amazon.
