This is a fantastic solution for an extra bed in a small apartment. I keep it in the closet, where it takes up very little room. Extremely well made (in the US!) with removable zippered covers. The purple color is beautiful, exactly the color on the screen. It is soft, so perhaps a heavy person might sink down a bit and need more padding, but for anyone 140 lbs or less it should be fine. It came extremely well packaged, vacuum-packed so it looked too small until I cut the plastic and it immediately opened up to its full size. And there is absolutely NO SMELL. I am really happy with it because I had tried a folding cot, and a folding ottoman, and neither was the size it was supposed to be according to the website so had to return them. It's nice and it's comfortable. Yes, there's a strong chemicals smell when unpacking it but it fades quickly and a run through the washer and that smell is gone entirely. It's comfortable to sleep on (and I am fairly heavy). The only dislike I have is that getting the cushions back into the cover after washing is a little tough. ... show more

Although I had already anticipated an "off odor" due to prior costumer reviews, I didn't expect to be sleeping inside a chemical manufacturing plant. It had a VERY strong chemical odor that lingered for WEEKS. It has been almost 2 months since I've purchased this and now am concerned about my health due to the chemical exposure. Bought this as a sleeping pad to throw in the back of my Subaru. Easy to store, seems well constructed, foam is firm. Great for sleeping on whether it is the Subaru with the seats folded down or out in the desert somewhere under the stars; real comfortable!

    • I love these foam beds
I love these foam beds! We use them for the kids, but they are comfortable enough for my wife and I to sleep on (which happens when we are trying to get them to lie down for naps!). They have withstood day in / day out use for over six months now and look as good as they did when originally purchased. We fold them up every day and/or stack them every day -- sometimes multiple times a day and the stitching has held up. These are definitely worth the purchase price. I have only had to wash the cover one time (we use blankets to cover normally, but had an accident . . . if you know what I mean . . . ). The cover washed up without shrinkage and was easy enough to put back on. ... show more

I purchased this because I needed something to sleep on when I stayed at my mother in laws because piling up blankets on the floor just wasn't cutting it. It was enough padding for me being around 125lbs but when my husband laid on it for a bit, he noticed that the padding was not enough. Also, in the reviews people claimed this had a unusual smell and I did not notice anything like this at all. ... show more

The shikibuton It's smells like moss. I want to return it. Can sleep on it the smell really bad. It gives me headache .
