Pros: It is comfortable and provides support for the back. It is easy to roll it and store it. My cousin came for a visit and stated that slept comfortably in it. 3 days without any issues. If you are looking to have a different sleeping experience, you will not regret it. Value for your money. Cons: Let's be honest. This is not a Tempur Pedic mattress. If you are looking for something of a similar feeling than a TP this is not for you. I'd say if you are over 220 pounds, you might find this not as comfortable (Based on my case, I find it very comfy). To notice: Cheap and comfortable mattress. If you spend on this and do not like it at the end will not be a big of a deal. Still, you can ask for a refund. This will be way better to sleep in rather than a couch or one of those sofa beds.     • i like it and use it as a topper....
so far i like it very much. i purchased a firm foam queen size mattress about 3 months ago. i liked it but for some reason, and because i was having a little lower back discomfort, it felt like something was missing for me. i like a firm but not floor hard feel. after viewing this A&D futon and because it is not too expensive, i decided to put this futon on my foam bed and use as a topper. i like it a lot and it is not too soft, not too hard. please know that i do not use this on the floor and if i did i probably would use a foam mat underneath. also know that i have only had this for one week but i think it is great. i am pleased and glad i gave it a try. especially for the price. i will write another review in about a month to see how i feel about it then. the size is accurate ...60 x 80 x3. no bad smell. no back pain. yes , i would buy it again......,,,, UPDATE: after buying the 3" futon, i later purchased a 4" trillion-fold mattress. put the tri fold on my platform bed and then the 3' FUTON ON TOP AND I LIKE IT VERY MUCH. I bought this mattress because I was looking for a temporary mattress that I could store away in a closet easily before getting a real bed.. The mattress is really comfortable and I have been sleeping on it for more than 2 weeks now. It does flatten out and requires shaking or fluffing after a while. The gray is more of a blue gray rather than a silvery gray. I was disappointed in the shipping, because I paid extra to get it expedited but still waited a week for it to get delivered to NY. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't pay for the extra shipping costs. ... show more

    • This has saved my back! + 2 Year Update
I love this thing. Seriously one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Traditional mattresses (even extra firm) were leaving me with back and hip pain. I went with this futon based on other reviews and I’m so happy I did. It’s well made, no strange ordors, the straps to tie it up are super helpful, and it’s great that they come in standard US sizes. I’m able to use all of my queen size sheets and bedding with the queen size futon with no problem. Every week or two I take it outside to air it out and then fluff it a little. After 6 months it’s still comfortable and looking great. And my back pain? 100% gone. 2-year Update: I’ve used this futon every night for just about two years now and I still love it. The construction has held up super well. No rips or tears anywhere even with moving it around fairly regularly. It’s squished down a bit, which is to be expected, but I continue to fluff as needed and it’s still super comfortable. ... show more

    • It's a pillow, not a mattress
So, I bought this item because it is listed as a "futon mattress." It is not. It is a pillow. A big, fat pillow. If you're looking for a pillow that is approximately the size of a queen mattress, then this is the item for you. If you're looking for a futon mattress that might one day be used by a guest, I strongly encourage you to keep shopping. I was going to return the item, but don't have the time or wherewithal to do it. What can I say? I'm lazy. So instead, I'm sharing my thoughts on the product and taking the $120 hit as a cautionary tale about buying D & D products. It's not that the item is flawed in any way. It's not, but it is also not what it claims to be. If one were unlucky enough to use this item as a bed, one would likely be experiencing some tremendous back pain after a short while. So, if you're some kind of masochist that gets off on a terrible night's sleep, then this might be the "mattress" for you. Or maybe if you stacked one on top of another you might have the support of an actual futon mattress, but I'll be damned if I'm buying another one of these items just to make it right. D & D, if you're reading this, I'd be happy to change by low/negative review if you're willing to send another "mattress" my way, so that this item can be slept on, if not, no hard feelings.     • Let's adress others complaints about this item and my experience
The largest complaint I see here is the chemical smell. That smell is actually from the plastic wrap it is housed in leaking gasses on it. The smell will go away after a few hours. I own 2 of these. I slept on one for a year, then bought a second and now it is doubled up. Expect about a year of use, if this is going to actually be your "daily driver". It starts to flatten after that. Let's be real here too. Futon are soft and wonderfully comfortable and this one is. But it is firm due to the usually being on the floor or a similar hard surface. That is kinda the point and why I CHOOSE to sleep this way. This helps my back and entire body. I am very active and didn't sleep well until I did this. But everyone has their preference. The best description is like a pillow top without the bouncing wiggly flexing of a mattress/box spring. You get even application of pressure, unlike traditional beds.
