  • Love these.
Size: Medium-Hard
Years of looking for the right sounding read and these check all the boxes, tone, tuning, playability and lasting, in my opinion.

  • Magic!
Size: Medium-Hard
I have been playing for almost 30 years and have tried a bunch of different reeds. I had stopped playing sax for a few years and when I picked it back up I found I was in need of new reeds. My husband went out and got me Rico Jazz Reeds which were horrible. I went through a few other brands trying what I thought would be 'new and improved' models. Nothing worked well. Despondent, I noticed in the bottom of my case part of a reed sticking out. It was a La Voz Medium Hard Reed. Why had I forgotten my love affair with these reeds? I went and bought one hoping it would be what I was looking for. It was like magic. Then I purchased a box of 10 from Amazon, so far they are all good. None of them appear to be stinkers. I remembered them being consistent and that quality doesn't seem to have changed. ... show more

  • Worked Wel!!
Size: Medium-Soft
I purchased these in September when my daughter started band in the 6th grade. They seemed fine, but we really didn't have anything to compare them to as she was a beginner. When she ran out, she bought 2 Vandoren Paris reeds from the school, 2.5 and 3. When she tried these she did nothing but squeak. I don't know if just because she was used to these or she got some bad ones, but I am reordering these. After this box, I will try the 3's. I recommend these. ********update******* Purchased the number 3 in the spring 2012 for my daughter. As per a suggestion I found on the internet, I had her play all the reeds in the box and had her mark them according to how they play. Most of them were good and there were a few that were fair, but from what I read this is quite normal. So I am still quite satisfied with these. ... show more

  • Still my favorite!
Size: Medium
I'd never claim to be a great saxophonist with amazing amounts of know-how. I just like to play in a couple of community jazz bands and have a good time. So, from my rather unqualified standpoint I will say that these LaVoz mediums have been my favorite since high school. I've played regular old VanDoren's in 3's and 3 and a halfs and just didn't like the sound that they gave me (perhaps too classical?). Rico Royals in 3's have been tried as well, and while I liked them, I'd still take a LaVoz medium. I played a Selmer C* for the longest time and am currently using a VanDoren A55 Jumbo mouthpiece. The VanDoren especially seems to enjoy softer reeds like the LaVozs (I can't make a good sound on it otherwise). ... show more

  • Good reeds
Size: Medium-Soft
The music store guy sold us cheap medium hard reeds and the kids had nothing but problems with them. I found myself researching reeds into the wee hours of the night and decided to give these a try. Talk about night and day. The kids found these easy to play, very little squeeking and the high D was easily playable. My son went from frustrated and complaining that he hated the sax, to giggles and smiles everytime he hit the octave key. A good reed can make all the difference in the world. ... show more

  • Great cost and sound wonderful
Size: Medium-Soft
Awesome reeds. One of my favorites and low cost! Great purchase once again. I've tried nearly every read at some point. There are a few I may slightly prefer, but in the end these are half the cost and have a great tone on my large tip hard rubber mouthpieces. These are magic on a vandoren jumbo java a45/a55 If I switch to a beechler bellite 7, or a arb metal 6, I have settled and prefer a Vandoren green Java 2 to both ease playability a bit, and gain some slight edge. ... show more
