  • Take pride in your wood and give it a waxing every now and then to keep it healthy
I was a bit concerned at first with the "Beaver Wood Care" portion of this, fearing I might get a tin of castoreum or beaver oozings, but the only two ingredients are food-grade mineral oil and beeswax, so anyone considering this can rest assured! Generally oil protectants for wood and cutting board type stuff soaks in faster and easier, but doesn't last as long as beeswax, so it's not uncommon to see blends of the two to give the best traits of each. I found this tin to be reasonably priced and pretty good quality. No particulate or impurities to it that will make it go rancid in the wood after application. Even applied to the end grain block in the pic that had already had oil applied to it recently, it improved it, leaving it looking less faded and more nourished. By their nature, cutting boards should be a little porous. If you take good care of them though, washing after use and using oil and wax from time to time, they won't absorb water, dry out, warp or crack. Not only does the wood board last longer, but taking care of the board is also taking care of you as regular cleaning and conditioning helps keep it from harboring bacteria. So wax your wood and then admire how good your wood looks! Recommended ... show more

  • Beautiful way to maintain your boards!
The Beaver Conditioning Cream is the perfect thing to keep your beautiful wooden cutting boards looking and working beautifully. Honestly I have been neglecting my boards until recently but if you keep your boards well conditioned they’ll last so much longer and look so much better! Using this product on top of some mineral oil locks in that deep rich wood color and even makes the boards nearly waterproof. Application was easy, I just spread it on the boards using a paper towel and let dry overnight. By morning you give the boards a good polish and they’re looking good as new! The best part is that this product doesn’t leave any sort of smell or oily feeling on the wood. You’d be surprised how far this conditioner goes even when using a generous amount, this tin will last you a while. After seeing how my other boards looked I ended up having to use this product on all of them so they could be equally as luxurious looking! ... show more

  • Easy to use, simple ingredients
The media could not be loaded. I got this to refurbish our dry cutting boards. The instructions say to use an oil first, then this product. I did not have the exact oil they recommended, and instead used a neutral grapeseed oil as a first coat, let it dry, then applied this paste. It goes on easily. Dries overnight. The cutting boards are shiny and look replenished. Only two ingredients, seems safe for food with no flavor or residue after following instructions. ... show more

  • Good food-safe protection for wooden kitchen implements
Ships in a tin that reminds me of a shoe polish container- roughly that size but a little deeper. This is a blend of beeswax and mineral oil- so food safe, and easy to apply. There is no applicator with the product but any microfiber cloth can be used to rub it on and off. When I use mineral oil on my kitchen stuff I generally have to leave it to dry for a while. This stuff goes on easily and dries relatively quickly (compared to straight oil)- and buffs to a nice finish. Good product to keep in a kitchen drawer to keep all your wooden implements happy (including wood knife handles). ... show more

  • Great for Hard Wood
This wood cream did not come in a sealed container and arrived leaking out of the can. It should have been shipped in a sealed or more secure container. It also would have been nice if it came with an applicator. The product has a waxy consistency and was easy to apply: just rub on and leave to dry. The cream is invisible when applied, and it has no smell and no taste. The wood conditioner softened my heavily used cutting board, and made it look newer. Cut marks were still visible, but the rest of the cutting board was like putting a moisturizer on dry skin. However, it did little for my wooden utensils which are made of a softer wood. The conditioner definitely works better on harder woods. ... show more

  • melts and spreads easily, leaves a nice finish
Cutting Board Cream - Wood Wax - Wood Conditioner - Food Grade Wax for Wooden Utensils I used this on my wooden spatulas and it works great. It melts onto a warm finger right away and gets almost liquid, so it spreads over the wood surface really easily. A little goes a long way; longer than the brand I already had at time. It's odorless, too. I followed the instructions and applied it to the wood and then let the utensils sit overnight. In the morning, I just gave them a quick wipe. They look so much better, and I'm sure will last longer. Very easy board cream to work with. Very happy with it and would recommend it and even gift it. ... show more

This is a great protective resource for your wooden cutting boards, charcuterie boards, cheese slicers, etc. It contains the same ingredients as my son's homemade wood conditioning cream; third grade mineral oil and natural beeswax.
