Durable, Functional, as Advertised. They are thick and heavy weight. I used them to handle charcoal and resin incense. They were long enough to keep my hands far from the stove burner where the charcoal gets lit. They gripped even the smallest resin pieces. Even when turning the red hot charcoal regularly, the handles never transferred heat, so my hand never felt warm. Multifunctional. I can see this being used to make jewelry, or other delicate activities, as well as more durable activities. They only limitation would be if you needed to handle items wider than the opening of the tongs. They can easily be opened slightly more with one hand, but only very slightly. The tongs I received are 8.75" long and have a half inch gap between the tips when open. I see no reason why you couldn't make the gap larger if needed. The tongs arms are about 0.5 mm thick. They are COPPER TONGS. They are nice and long for deeper solutions, they grip well and are far better than the wood chopsticks I had been using. Might have to buy another pair. If I had to give one negative it would be that they are not spread very wide.... maybe 1/4 inch but this could be good or bad depending on your application. ... show more
