My boys all play highschool football. One had a shoulder injury last year and it got re-injured unfortunately this season. This product is comfortable and the little pack that comes with it is his favorite feature. Freeze the pack, throw it in the sleeve and boom! About ten minutes into it he's feeling loads better. The Curad brace is an average fabric brace with velcro straps that you cross to tighten around the knee. The brace has a pocket and an included hot/cold pack that you can add to the brace for some hot or cold therapy on the knee. As for the "converts your body’s heat into infrared energy", well I guess if you think of a blanket as a device which "converts your body’s heat into infrared energy" then I guess the brace also does that because there is some retention of heat your body is putting out.

Anyone older than me will roll their eyes about this, but I swear, on the morning of my 30th birthday, my lower back started hurting and hasn't stopped. This back support has provided me with MUCH relief. When wrapped properly, there are several (removeable!) plastic sticks that create a solid support parallel to the spine while elastic adds compression across the back. A (removeable!) gel pack in the back can be put in the freezer if you want cold therapy or thrown in the microwave for heat. If you do neither, the gel bag absorbs and retains some of your body heat, which can still aid with healing. I definitely notice a difference!

Style: Multipurpose Support
This support is great for getting heat/cold where you need it. I don't think 'support' is the right word for it because that implies it provides ample compression to provide support. I didn't really find that to be the case unless you put it on pretty snug, but putting it on too snug restricted the flow of oxygen too much. Perhaps I just didn't dial it in quite right. In my mind, this support is all about getting hot/cold where you need it. That's a job it does exceedingly well. Because it is velcro-based you are able to get it right where it needs to go with just the right amount of pressure. The insert looks like it well hold up well through many uses, and it fits the retaining sleeve perfectly. This support has top notch craftsmanship, as I would have expected from a brand like Curad. I believe it will serve our family well for many years, and mishaps, to come.

I ordered several shoulder braces recently - due to my partially torn rotator cuff injury, and I wanted to try several versions to see which one would be ideal. However, the one I was looking forward to using the most was the CURAD IRONMAN support. After all, CURAD is well known name among medical circles and they've been around for quite some time - so I assumed that total satisfaction would be in order - NOT!!! When it arrived, the box was all beat up and when I pulled out the shoulder support unit, it was much, much larger than the other models that I've been accustomed to using. As I patiently tried to put it on, the main thing that had me disappointed was that the heating pad which slides inside a mesh type of pouch, kept sliding out because there was nothing to prevent it from doing so. I spent a good 45 minutes trying to get it on my shoulder without it sliding out or bunching up. Then, not only was it frustrating enough with this heating pad, the straps that go around your back and chest, weren't taught enough to maintain a firm grip to the body - that one surprised me big time. Alright, so some of you may think, "well, why doesn't he just put on the device without the heating pad?" Because overall, it's still too clumsy of a design. I really wanted to give this unit the benefit of the doubt but with my figure - I'm 180 labs and have been a body builder for 55+ years - it was a total bust and I had to send it back for a refund. In comparison, some other brands that were half the price fit and performed much better than this CURAD model - color me surprisingly disappointed. As is always the case, I'm speaking for my own body and your mileage may vary. Good luck...

Firstly the item that was delivered was a bit beat up (see photo), but this is not a criticism of the item itself, just how it was stored at the warehouse I guess, since the shipping box was not damaged in any way. Pretty basic design. One gel pack that can be put in the freezer for cold therapy, or microwaved (from room temperature) for heat therapy. One pouch to place the gel pack into and then two velcro straps to wrap around the leg, one top, one bottom. The problem is that this design forces the gel to the middle, right on to the middle of your kneecap, so it applies pressure in the least helpful place. A better design would be to heat or cool above and below the kneecap and remove pressure from the middle. Careful when heating up. I did the 65 seconds recommended and did slightly burn my skin. No biggie, but if you buy this item, you need to dial in the right cooking time for your microwave carefully :-) The quality of the materials is bare minimum in my opinion, but I guess it does work, just not optimally.

I have short torso, and this literately extend an inch up my ribcage and an inch down my hip. It's just too bulky and not convenient Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the brace. The waist is one size but adjustable with thick but stretchy fabric. It's generally comfortable to wear other than being too wide. The gel pack is amazing for hot therapy. It stays consistently warm for 10+ minutes while all other packs I've gotten all started to cool down after 5-10 minutes. I'd buy the gel pack by itself.
