  • Minor bloatware, 14 different office365 language installs
Ordered 3/31. Expected 4/6. Delivered 4/2. So that was nice. There was the expected bloatware, although I did find it strange that there was approximately 14 different office365 preinstalls, installed. All different languages, all having to be uninstalled individually. Laptop was smaller than I had imagined. Much lighter than I imagined, out of the box resolution is not optimized, mine was zoomed in to 225% on desktop screen. I’ve been using it for work and backing up a of my files from my previous computer, everything is working as expected or better with the exception of the battery that will not show a charger above 98%. I will give it until tomorrow before attempting any warranty claims with manufacturer but it’s the only disappointing thing so far. ... show more

  • Great buy
Had to work out a fix for 5ghz internet, but after that troubleshoot, this has been the best performing laptop I've ever bought.

  • so far it works well
I have had this for about a month now. I will edit if anything changes. It is the best stats (CPU, GPU etc.) that I could find at this price and it sounds very easy to upgrade so I will probably add another SDD since 500 GB isn't enough for games. So far it runs games very well. So far, Dota 2, Fallout 4, CS Go. I don't play new games yet. Waiting for the next elder scrolls. When paying games the fan is does make noise, but its not much louder than my work laptop (HP Probook). You should probably game with headphones on anyway. I have a friend with an HP Spectre and that thing sounded like an airplane taking off constantly. This laptop is very quiet when you're not gaming. It is a shame that the keyboard doesn't have a number pad since it is 15" but I don't care because I put my laptop on a stand (3M LX550) and use a USB keyboard so it is higher up and can breathe better. It doesn't get hot when I am gaming, just pretty warm. Before buying I read that the battery was bad, but damn I would say its terrible. Again, I don't really care. I don't play games unplugged and I'm usually at my desk plugged in anyway. If I am not plugged in (and not gaming) it will give me 1-2ish hours maybe more but it is very hard to say. I am trying to see how much battery a 1.5 hr movie will use, but another problem is that the battery life isn't measured very well. Sometimes it sits at 100% for long periods. I like the MSI Dragon Center software that it comes with. It's easy to change to performance modes, it has a blue light filter that is easy on your eyes, and it has battery management settings which I hope actually increase the longevity of the battery. I can choose to keep my battery to only charge between 50-60 percent because it is "best for battery." However, I am curious if this is causing the problem where the battery stays at 100% when I switch to the fully charged mode if I am charging up to watch a movie or something. ... show more

  • Not very impressed for the money...
I bought this mainly for music production because it was recommended for such. I launched the DAW Ableton along with an Arturia plug-in and it could not handle the audio processing at all. And those were the only two apps running-not a heavy process at all. I definitely would not recommend this laptop for audio processing applications. Oh, and when the fan kicks in- I literally thought there was a downpour outside my house...no joke. I rarely leave negative comments but when you spend this kind of money you expect a higher level of performance. Update 10-16-20: Tried to upload a video as proof but Amazon apparently doesn't except .mp4's. The video would've shown the laptop sitting right next to the wireless router and repeatedly dropping the connection. I need to brutally honest here and say this laptop is definitely NOT worth $1200. I'm going to request a refund. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! ... show more

  • Outstanding.
Mine has th 512 SSD which I plan to increase once I open up the computer to see if there is a spot for a second m.2. If there is not I plan to flash my stuff and replace the 512 with 2gb.

  • Great mobile gaming/work system
Bought this early this year as my sole computer, so needed it to be a great gaming rig on top of typical business work. 4 months in, it's working great and I am exceedingly happy. The weight is low, which makes mobility a breeze, and the SSD is as good as any top brand ones I've owned (so far). I have no recent top end games so I can't give it 5 stars because it may not be top-notch for 2020 GPU monsters, but COD: Warzone runs smoothly for me at high graphics. Also, I tried to order a very similar machine from a gaming PC company who failed miserably with build and delivery time, while CUK shipped exactly on time! Since I needed it for immediate work use that rates them highly in my eyes, and I would recommend them even if you wanted a different computer. ... show more
