Works great, using the same principle as deglazing a frying pan. At the end of my cooking, I get the grill ripping hot, soak it in water, and clean the grates in record time. The dishwasher doesn't get the head as clean as I thought it might, but that doesn't affect its cleaning performance. I was highly skeptical but this truly does work. You MUST heat the grill a full 5 minutes before applying the wet tool, and you must re-dip it into a bowl of water after every few strokes over the grates. It pays to apply pressure using the secondary grip on the handle, but remember it's the steam that's doing the work. It absolutely removes residue from across the top of the grilling grates. That said, it does no better than any other grill brush removing residue on the other surfaces of the grates and for this, like other tools, you are reliant on the blade which never fully reaches all surfaces on any grill cleaning tool. I've immersed it in soapy water and placed the detachable head in the top rack of the dishwasher and both methods remove much of the accumulated grime but not fully. I'm curious to see how long these replaceable heads last, they appear to be made from a fairly heavy-duty sailcloth-like canvas stretched over a rigid plastic form. Given nearly identical implements are going for twice the price, this is a reasonable price and comparable to what you would spend for a good quality wire brush. ... show more

I recently tried the Cuisinart CCB-1000 Renew Steam Cleaner Grill Cleaning Brush, and overall, it performed well in fulfilling its intended function. One notable advantage is its sturdier construction compared to similar brushes available on the market. This design choice gives me confidence that it will hold up better over time. Functionally, the brush worked as expected. It effectively tackled grill grime and helped remove stubborn residue. The bristles were firm and provided good scraping power without scratching the grill surface. I appreciate the convenience of being able to put the brush in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. However, like other brands I've tried, it doesn't completely eliminate all the built-up grease from previous grill sessions. So while it does a decent job, it might not completely restore the brush to its original condition. While the brush lacks the "squishiness" of some other options, I view this as a positive aspect. The firmer bristles and durable construction suggest that it will have a longer lifespan, saving me the trouble of frequently replacing worn-out brushes. I purchased this because I got tired of little metal wires coming off of my brush when I cleaned my grill. The steam cleaner brush works well. The pad doesn't clean very well, but it's easy to replace.

The pad surface wears out quickly. I have only cleaned my grill five times and the pad surface has multiple tears, ragged holes and is wearing quickly. Replacements are about $14.00, so this cleaner, althoughcheape4 than the major brands, looks like it is not going to last very long. And will be costly due to more frequent replacements. I have been using the Grill Rescue but it has become too expensive had wearing out too fast. I decided to try a different brand. The cleaning pad does not absorb much water create steam and this does not clean well. The blade at the end is not long ebough to adequately reach the grates and scrape them clean. I like the handle style but with the poor design of the cleaning pad and scraper it does not do much good. This product needs some redesigning to sufficiently clean a grill. ... show more

I've tried a lot of things and was almost giving up when I came across the Cuisinart brush. The design is a bit big, which is good, at least for me. You can use both hand and have better control and ease of use. I've been using the steam method by hand and this makes thing so much easier. Since it's bigger than other products I've tried, it also feels durable and of good quality. Love that Cuisinart made the head removable. You can always buy a replacement and swap it in a heartbeat. Great functionality and ease of cleaning. This is the product I was waiting for quite some time ... show more
