“Gary is a masterful entrepreneur with a gift for communication that cuts through all the bullshit that can often hinder one’s success. We share the same simplistic business philosophy which is why we’ve become good friends: Be willing to put in the hard work. And always be grateful. Crushing It! is a must-have for all individuals who want to be the best at what they do.” (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) “The name GaryVee has become synonymous with motivating an entire generation. No one understands the power of social media better than Gary, because none of what he preaches is theory—it’s an understanding born from his deep experience in business and in life.” (Casey Neistat) “Gary is helping to calibrate the desires and expectations of a new generation searching for a way to break through the noise. He’s loud, he’s high energy—and he’s exactly right.” (John Mayer) Vaynerchuk identifies the most important components that contribute to successful online marketing in a personable, lively way. Going beyond simple “how-to” guides for the various platforms, he gets at the heart of what it takes to succeed in a competitive environment. Recommended for anyone looking to get started online or increase their media currency. (Laurel Tacoma, Fairfax Cty. P.L., VA) #1 New York Times Bestseller “You’re going to hear the stories of people who were scared, just like you. Who had obligations, just like you. Who were told they were being foolish, or reckless, or irresponsible, or immature. They did it anyway and reaped the rewards. If there’s anything this book should teach you, it’s that the only thing stopping you from achieving lasting career and life happiness is you.” In his 2009 international bestseller, Crush It!, Gary Vaynerchuk insisted that a vibrant personal brand was crucial to entrepreneurial success. In Crushing It!, Gary explains why that’s even more true today, offering his unique perspective on what has changed and what remains timeless. He also shares stories from other entrepreneurs who have grown wealthier—and not just financially—than they ever imagined possible by following Crush It! principles. The secret to their success (and Gary’s) has everything to do with their understanding of social media platforms and their willingness to do whatever it takes to make these tools work to their utmost potential. That’s what Crushing It! teaches readers to do. In this lively, practical, and inspiring book, Gary dissects every current major social media platform so that anyone from plumbers to park rangers will know exactly which platforms to use as their pillar content. He offers both theoretical and tactical advice on how to become the biggest thing on old standbys such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram; younger upstarts such as Musical.ly; audiocentric platforms such as Spotify, SoundCloud, iHeartRadio, and iTunes; and newcomer Alexa Skills. For those with more experience, Crushing It! illuminates some little-known nuances and provides innovative tips and clever tweaks proven to enhance more common, tried-and-true strategies. Crushing It! is a state-of-the-art guide to building your own path to professional and financial success, but it’s not about getting rich. It’s a blueprint for living life on your own terms. Gary Vaynerchuk is chairman and CEO of VaynerX, a $150-million-plus media holding agency that includes VaynerMedia and PureWow. He is one of the world’s leading marketing experts and a four-time New York Times bestselling author. After growing his family wine business from a $4 million to a $60 million busines, he developed and now runs VaynerMedia, one of the world’s hottest digital agencies. Gary is also a prolific angel investor and venture capitalist, investing in companies including Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Uber, and Venmo, and cofounding the Vayner/RSE fund, among many other enterprises. He lives in New York City.

abunda_amazon_reviews This is one of those books where you get a bunch of people to tell their story and essentially write your book for you. But not before you plug your last book at the beginning of every paragraph and again at the end of every paragraph. This is all fluff and like so many other books...a constant plug for something else they are selling...in this case...Gary is still trying to sell his other book and he let's you know how wonder it is every chance he gets. Don't believe the hype people. You can go on to upwork and hire companies that do nothing but buy your merchandise or your books and then write 5 star reviews. This is epidemic in todays world. No way a book with no substance could get so many good reviews. Save your hard earned cash. Whatever answers you were looking for are not in this book. I'll give you an example. One story teller goes into length about the podcast they started and how it changed their business. That is like saying, "I started a website and then I had sales." Wow! That's amazing! If this is all it takes to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside then you will love this book. If you want more details or a point in the right direction in terms of what were the pros and cons of starting the podcast...what type of industry is best suited podcasting...what were some tips for someone who might want to start a podcast...than you won't get them in this book. And each and every topic is like this. Just story telling. Just words to take up pages. Nothing of substance. Irritating these guys keep pumping and dumping garbage like this. I only knew he uses the "F" word probably more than 100 times a day. Making the story short, I had heard that Gary knew a lot about social media and was recommended to read one of his previous books "Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook" which got me to study more of who Gary was. Eventually, I went to his website and found out he had launched a new book "Crushing It". Maybe your reading this to know whether you should buy this book or not. I'm so grateful I came across this book. It has completely changed my life, my mind, and it positioned me in a new direction in which I plan to go. For example, I'm currently trying to build an online business which I hoped it could make $6,000 a month. Applying Gary's mindset, I am now certain that I can probably double that amount. "Why do GOOD, when you can do GREAT", right? If you have a business, buy this book; if you're planning on creating a business, buy this book; if you feel unhappy with your life, buy this book; if you feel unhappy at work, buy this book; if you're looking for inspiration, buy this book; if your husband/wife cheated on you, nope, wrong book. In today's current state of the internet this is possible, and Gary breaks down the principles and work required to achieve what you want. He doesn't promise millions of dollars. He DOES promise you will be happy, if that means leaving your $150K a year job, to make $90K, then that's what it takes. What is truly inspiring in this book are the abundant stories of those who read his first book, Crush It! and tales of their successes in applying the same principles taught in this book. Its shameful.

        Disappointing
The content is very shallow. I already knew all the info presented here. I was expecting way more valuable content from Gary. If you need a general introduction to all social media platforms, then this book will work for you. I also didn’t like how he makes sound everything easy from FB ads to shooting videos.

        My Crushing It Story. Enjoy!
I will tell you my story: I basically didn't know who Gary was (I know, who doesn't know who Gary is in 2018). What did you think I was gonna say?

        OK, but not great.
First - I love Gary and his no BS approach. Second - The back contains celebrity friends clearly writing a blurb to help Gary promote his book. I feel the marketing for this book and celebrity recommendations are misleading. If I had the desire to be a you-tuber or make money on social media I probably would have given it a low 4 star rating. But, I don't and I am not. I believe the book topped the charts due to its marketing and Gary offering incentives if they purchased 1000+ books. Not because the book is that great. I am sure after a few weeks the hype will die and people will start talking about the actual substance. I love Gary but the book isn't more than a bunch short stories about social media on how to possibly get likes and shares. I believe it topped the charts due to its original marketing. I'm sure it will die off

Crushing It! will teach you how to make money around your passion
Crushing It! is the elite guide to growing a personal brand, business, or following around your passion. It is not a get rich quick guide, or follow these simple steps book. Gary emphasizes that to be successful in any field requires work, but if you choose your work around your passion, life will be more fulfilling. Even if you read Crush It!, this book is a must read as platforms have evolved and strategies have changed. This is the new authority on social media use in 2018. I add my own testament to his teachings and principles. In 2016 I started documenting my life as a pilot and sharing stories from the road, trying to help those interested in an aviation career. By following his tried and true methods, I have grown my following to over 35,000 followers and made some money with this 'side hustle' as Gary would say. I'm no entrepreneur, but this book speaks to everyone. 5 stars, I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to share their passion with the world.
