Description

Finally, on console, you can live the life of a medieval ruler in Paradox Development Studio's award-winning strategy role-playing game, Crusader Kings III! Assume the leadership of a medieval noble family, increasing its power and reputation through the generations. As one ruler dies, they are replaced by an heir who may have very different abilities or interests, forcing you to adjust your long-term plans. Play a master of the battlefield, conquering your enemies, or play a subtle seeker of secrets, using plots and poison to advance your agenda - all in the same game. Arrange marriages, champion the faith, and establish new empires in this modern classic - unlike any other strategy game you've ever played on console. HISTORY: ● Choose a royal or noble house from a number of realms on a map that stretches from Iceland to India, from the Arctic Circle to Central Africa. ● Guide a dynasty through the centuries, ensuring the security and power of each new generation. Gather new lands and titles to cement your legacy. ● Be a pious king to bring the religious powers to your side, or strike out on your own, designing your own splinter religion and earning everlasting fame or eternal damnation. ● Knights, peasant revolts, pilgrimages, Viking raiders... experience the drama and pageantry of the Middle Ages! CHARACTER: ● Adopt one of five different lifestyles, perfecting your skills in military strategy or kingdom management. ● Acquire character traits that will guide your actions but beware if you act against your nature! The stress from denying your truest self could bring a new host of troubles! ● Choose appropriate guardians for your heirs, or train them yourself. But what do you do if the legal heir is not quite up to the job? ● Violent characters may develop a fearsome reputation, cowering your timid subjects into obedience with the dread you inspire.

  • Fun game

Probably a good idea to play tutorial and watch some YouTube to get a feel for the game

  • Strategy Game no actual play

Great strategic game. Makes you mad sometimes, but makes you to think. Took me about two weeks before I was able to get down the control. Put your fights in Auto. Addicting because you’re trying to build a dynasty. This is not for impatient players, for it is a very slow paced game.

  • Fantastic

I played the OG Crusader Kings upon its release nearly 20 years ago. I bought CK2 immediately upon its release in 2012. I hadn’t picked up, or played CK3 in any form until the PS5. Using a controller works great. It is well done, and intuitive once you get the hang of it. If you have CK experience, it’ll come much more easily, I think. The game looks great. It’s rich and deep. I am enjoying it immensely. If you have not played Crusader Kings in the past, know that the learning curve will be steep, but it will make sense and become intuitive. I fully recommend playing the tutorial and continuing on from it once complete. I’m just a couple of generations in, and it is all making sense now. It’s a different kind of game than console players are used to, but if you put in the effort, it will reward you. ... show more

  • The Tsar Has Been Cursed

The tutorial is at least essential if not very fun at all. It prepares you well enough. I haven’t been near to unraveling the intricacies of these systems but I have come expect pure chaos to sully the idyllic tabletop map with or without being made aware. Most recently, I’ve been keeping busy enough with just making sure my son doesn’t steal any more of my lands after switching allegiances over something that I said when the thought of them being precocious would have seemed too extraordinary in providing such an ill portrait atop the globe later. The wife was happy though. Somehow. The poetry in this game isn’t good. I guess it allows for a more literate tone to emerge in a future sequel. I had hoped something less than making them but an abnormal shadow beneath the moon in shared grace. The controller works better than advertised in the accompanying video diary. The loading times are quite conciliatory. I think I prefer the Norse over the Romans and the Irish over both. I’ve hardly eaten up a meek sliver of the map and have not engaged in multiplayer. It all requires a cool head. You will feel as incompetent as a dog that realizes their leash is far too long but not forever. As one had hoped. That’s likely enough recommendation. Haha. ... show more

  • Way too difficult
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
There are way too many little selections and options for things that make the game unplayable. It’s just too massive to keep up with.
