  • Great drive!
I bought this storage for my desktop PC in addition to my existing storage. Previously I only had a 500gb SATA SSD and a 1TBHDD so getting this 2TB drive gave me over double the storage which is amazing. After I installed the drive on my motherboard I immediately moved all of my games (about 1tb total) to the new drive and wow I'm impressed with the transfer speed. It's extremely fast compared to my other drives and now I can have active downloads without slowing down my computer. This SSD feels very nice and high quality with a good looking heat sink on top. This was my first time installing a M.2 drive so it took me a while to figure out how to access the storage after it was in. Overall I'm extremely pleased. The value I received is very good considering the amount of storage, the performance and the price. My games boot super fast and my boot drive is now free from large game files and constant game and driver updates. Plus I heard that this also works in the PS5, so I'll definitely be getting 2 more of these in the future to expand my PlayStation storage. ... show more

  • Great all-day SSD
The Crucial P5 Plus is quite a fast Gen 4 SSD. Unfortunately I only have a board with Gen 3 PCI-e so I can't unlock it's full speed but there's hardly a reason to. It easily saturates 3,300MB/s that my current mainboard is capable of doing. For me this is plenty. File transfers, video recording & editing, gaming & modding, 2D art, multitasking, compiling, unpacking & repacking and desktop environment are all lightning fast and Windows environment responds nearly instantly. I appreciate the pre-installed heatsink which is quite heavy for its small size, but still easily fits in the M.2 slot which is directly beneath my video card. During a CrystalDiskMark bench it barely reached 70-80C during stress test. Under normal operation it's more like 25-50C. Installation was super easy, no issues detecting or getting Windows to install on it and it comes pre-partitioned for your convenience. All in all, a fantastic drive for PC or consoles. ... show more

  • Good replacement for internal HDD
I purchased this NVME SSD to replace the 2 Tb system hard drive in my Dell XPS 8930. Easy to install, fits right into the NVME port on the system board. System continues to boot from the HDD so you can install operating system and copy data from the HDD to the SSD. Then go into system BIOS and change the boot order to boot from the SSD. System is now much faster and I can use the original HDD as backup storage. ... show more

  • Drastic Upgrade over Crucial P3
My midrange gaming pc has an 11700k, 3080 gpu, 32gb ddr4 ram and I previously had the Crucial P3 in my system. I noticed when my system was loading, weird things would happen occasionally. For example, during my windows boot sequence, I have Steam and have a live wallpaper of Chun Li on Street Fighter 6 to auto launch on every boot. This is very resource intensive to do. With the P3, it was a roll of the dice 🎲 whether both would load. Sometimes, I'd gave the system on for several minutes and steam didn't load. Other times my wallpaper was glitchy. With the P5, this is all gone. Everything loads correctly each time. It's night and day different. The P5 has dram cache in it whereas the P3 doesn't. So though they theoretically have similar drive speeds, the P5 is superior because of the Dram cache. I now realize more than ever that not all nvme ssds are the same. ... show more

  • Heat sink pre installed and super easy install
Heat sink pre installed and super easy to install. Good for my PS5, as I had 1/2 my PS5 games on external drive and couldn't play them from external drive, would have to swap games back and forth.

  • Fast, Good Support, Hardware Encrypted
I purchased two of these 2TB SSDs and couldn't be happier with the upgrades to my system. I specifically picked Crucial over WD, Seagate, FireCuda, Samsung and other gaming brands because of the hardware disk encryption and higher-rated support. It's slower than the other options ,but the Micron memory chip is very good compared to other SSDs which have reported issues, requiring firmware updates out-of-the-box or replacements after just a few years. My only complaint is the heatsink is very large, so it didn't fit into my PC as cleanly as I would have liked. An Asus board design problem. Also, Crucial decided to use thermal paste instead of thermal pads, so be ready to clean them up if you choose to order the hink sink thinking you could just take it off easily. ... show more
