I wanted a hall tree/bench for our home. We have a garage that enters in the basement and are finishing the basement to be a welcoming entry into the house. This hall tree fit our space perfectly. The bottom holds my husband's shoes and it’s a good place for the kids to sit and put their shoes on before leaving. There is a “distressed” look to the surface which looks fine. I ordered some baskets to hold gloves on the top shelf and added a welcome sign and other decor to the top as well. The baskets, rustic jar, and welcome sign are all from Amazon as well. I love this hall tree! It came quickly and was super simple to setup alone (everything aligns perfectly). It is solid wood so heavier than most hall trees on here. The beadboard adds a lot of character which I appreciate. Lots of storage above and below!! Highly recommend!

Well, it's up and looks great. Pros: I love it. It looks great in the space and is weight bearing and the hooks are very secure. Cons: - It isn't as tall as I thought it would be. It's not a big deal to me, but I was under the impression it was taller. - It's a bit of a monster to assemble. The horizontal piece that fits between the back panel and the bench wouldn't fit into the other pieces and wasn't flush with the rest of the unit, which caused it to be impossible to attach the bench. I opted to cut it down by about 1/8th of an inch. It fit perfectly after that, but I'll have to get a cushion because you can see the cut. This could be put together by one person if you're handy and can figure out how to troubleshoot like I had to if the pieces don't go together perfectly. ... show more

We recently moved across the country and I left our “shoe tree” in the previous home. I needed something for our laundry room that could hold backpacks, shoes, and odds and ends from 5 people coming in and out. I looked at a lot of different options and styles on Amazon and ultimately settled on this one based on esthetic and reviews. It honestly is really nice. It’s solid and doesn’t feel cheap. Yes you have to put it together but it was pretty easy compared to a lot of other things I have had to configure lately from Amazon. Wanted to give my entryway a little facelift, but also was looking for a much needed “dump zone”. Love the shelf (I added baskets also found on Amazon). The hooks and hardware are strong and pair well with the look of the piece. The bench is wide and perfect for dropping bags, Amazon packages or to sit while putting on shoes. This was actually really enjoyable to put together. All pieces were labeled nicely, the tools were organized well, and the directions were clear. I do agree with some reviews that say it was shorter than desired. And I would look to add legs so that the hooks are at at least eye level. ... show more

Assembly was not very difficult. The product is so well made it takes time to secure the pieces. I can't believe how nicely everything fits together... and it's sturdy!!! True craftsmanship at a very reasonable price. Will highly recommend it to family and friends!!!!
