The island arrived very well packed and great assembly instructions. The second package with the granite top was also well packed , in wood, but unfortunately the top was split in two. Contacted customer support, told them the problem, uploaded photos and boom, they sent a replacement top. Pretty sure the first top was split during transport. I needed a kitchen island of a specific size with a high quality countertop, some storage space underneath, that looked like a nice piece of furniture, at a price that fit my budget. This fit the bill. Sure it's not solid mahogany or cherry, and yeah the doors and drawers aren't heavy, but honestly, the fit and finish is pretty tight. It's not wobbly, the drawers & doors operate smoothly, and the granite top is rather nice. And most importantly, the piece is very attractive. The cabinet space is not huge, but they provide dimensions here...you know what you're getting. As for assembly, I'll say with complete confidence that the reviewer complaining about the size and function of the screws, either he/she was doing something wrong, or the company has since corrected what parts they provide. Assembly took a whole evening, but if you lay out your pieces before you begin, and follow the directions as they are, it's not really in any way challenging. There are a lot of parts, and I found it to be a 2-person job. 1 person to do the assembly, and 1 person to kind of play nurse...locate the requested parts as they come up in the directions, and hold up pieces while the other person is tightening screws. But again, it's not hard. Just time-consuming. I'm satisfied with my purchase! ... show more

My wife and I have a small kitchen area and we just wanted something that would give us just a little more much needed counter space and some additional storage space. This product easily satisfies these 2 conditions and at the same times adds much beauty to the kitchen. Our home is only a 1600 square foot home and again we felt we just needed something a little additional. As far as the assembly goes, I did this after having a couple of surgeries slowly, but very carefully. The booklet that comes with all the parts neatly packed is excellent with pictures of exactly how to assemble everything. I recommend forget how fast you can do something and just go about it the right way with patience and knowing in the long run, you will have exactly what you ordered. Again, I had in my frame of mind, to take my time and do it right especially after a few major surgeries. Yes, I may have spent an additional hour or so longer than other reviews here due to breaks, etc. but I am very, very pleased as so is my wife with this product. No qualms whatsoever folks.. NONE. YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR NEW PIECE OF FURNITURE SOON.. One thing I should of mentioned is probably it would be better if you had a good Allen wrench instead of the one provided for recessed areas. Exactly as described. It's nice looking, sturdy and roomy. The box arrived with a cracked granite top, and they sent a replacement right away. First, a few pieces were missing but amazon worked hard to have them shipped right away. Second, it is very difficult to put together and the directions are incredibly confusing. Third, once it is finally together and in place, none of the other concerns will matter because it looks great! Perfect for the space I needed to fill, above average materials and reasonably sturdy. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend paying the extra amount for the granite top, it is well worth it. Trying to find kitchen islands being sold in showrooms is next to impossible, believe me I looked, but this piece is the perfect solution. As I said, expect a good four to five hours of assembly time, once all the necessary parts are accounted for and resign yourself to having a very patient attitude with the directions. If you can handle that, you won't be disappointed with this very nice and relatively affordable piece. ... show more
