This was a huge amount of work for my husband to assemble, but he did comment that the instructions included were really thorough and excellent compared to most assembly instructions. He had a few criticisms about the piece; the fact that it’s a veneer over chipboard, and that the feet were hard to place without the edging (which is supposed to be tucked under the bottom) were somewhat exposed. But he did love how the cabinet doors went in with ease and hang perfectly straight. My criticism is only that it seems they had room to make much larger drawers and that they don’t open fully. I do absolutely love the overall looks of this piece of furniture. We left the paper towel holder off, which also didn’t look like it could keep paper towels in because the rod was so short, but we didn’t need it anyway. Instead, we mounted the shelf/towel holder on the other side. They aren’t really interchangeable unless you just want to mount the shelf. He’d have had to drill holes if we’d wanted the paper towel holder on the opposite side, so that could be a real negative for someone who would like to do that. The holes on the other side are fairly well hidden for us because they’re facing a kitchen cabinet. It would be nice if they’d provided matching pegs to cover the holes if you don’t want to use these attachments. But for our purposes, the cabinet is wonderful, and the granite top was perfect, heavy duty and gorgeous. It matches quite well with our black countertops and appliances. And even though it’s pressboard with a veneer, it truly looks like solid wood. I love this cabinet!

So, I just put this together today, it came in 3 boxes with a total weight of almost 200 pounds...so make sure you have help when you go to move the boxes inside. It went together perfectly I had no problems what so ever! The black marble top is perfect and the color of the wood matches well with the top. It took about 3 hours to put together and you will need at least 2 people when it comes to putting the marble top onto the cabinet as that alone weighs in the neighborhood of 81 pounds and is just awkward when only one person is attempting it. It was a little tricky when I went to put the doors on because I wasn't paying attention as to which door went where. This was a problem because the magnet the holds the door shut wouldn't line up with the little metal tab on the door. I ended up removing the metal tabs and putting them in a new location because I couldn't figure out how to get the door back out once it was in place without breaking something. Again this was my screw up nothing with the directions or anything, but just be aware of it. I very much recommend this island because once I had it all together it didn't look at all like a "put it together yourself" cabinet!

I really like this kitchen island. It is sturdy, and it looks very nice in my kitchen. My husband did not complain about the assembly, so I think it was pretty easy. The only complaint that I have is that the cupboard units are a bit small. I don't think it needs to be divided into thirds. The two cupboards on either side of the center cupboard are very narrow, and the center cupboard not as big as I would have liked. I think it would be better as a single cupboard behind the 3 doors, or just divided into 2.

Cheap HAZY "granite" top. It came FULL of scratches as well. Save your money. This thing is cheap and the "granite" they claim your purchasing is even cheaper and I'll say it again, FULL OF HAZE. Would not recommend this product.

I was very impressed with the quality of this island. It took almost 3 hours to put it together...time consuming, but not too difficult. There are a lot of pieces, but all the wood pieces were well marked and all the hardware was organized and numbered to coincide with the instructions in the manual. They even included some extra screws, cams locks and spring pins in case something was missing. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, although it did take two of us to complete the job. The granite top came in a wood crate that was screwed together to keep it intact. It was inside of a box, wrapped in plastic and cushioned with Styrofoam. The wood and the granite are beautiful and we are very pleased with the finished product. In my opinion, the island is very consistent with the advertised photo. I also liked having the option of putting on the casters OR the round wooden base support pieces (we chose the latter). We have the island against a wall in our kitchen and use it as a microwave stand and extra storage cabinet. It works perfectly. I was worried about spending hundreds of dollars and taking a chance on a product that you have to put together piece by piece, but for us it turned out okay. We were pleasantly surprised with the results. If you are willing to spend a little time to put it together, I would highly recommend this product.

This island was surprisingly nice. I am always hesitant to order furniture online, but this is the third furniture item we've bought from Amazon and every item so far has exceeded our expectations. The granite top on is this extremely durable. The only challenge about ordering furniture online has been visualizing the dimensions. For something like this, I took cardboard and laid out the area it encompasses to get an idea of how much room it takes up. The island could stand to be a few inches wider, but it's very functional as it is. As far as assembly goes, my wife and I put it together in a little over an hour taking our time. The instructions are easy enough to follow.

Our kitchen isn’t very large and I needed more work space. I was hesitant to order this based on a few of the reviews however I’m glad I did. My husband laid everything out according to how each piece was labeled and had it put together in 2.75 hours. Definitely recommend.

So, you get what you pay for. The granite top is nice, heavy too. I just hope the cabinet holds up under its weight. This flimsy pile of compressed wood has been on my kitchen floor for about 2 weeks. I had surgery so that slowed things down, but I’ve been trying little by little to get it together. It’s not solid wood, the back panels are thin and flimsy. Wood pegs, screws, and a million other little pieces. Holes here and there and directions with no words, just drawings and once you get to a certain point, the drawing becomes jumbled because you have so many pieces overlapping in the drawing. $500 for a pain in the butt, not very sturdy cabinet. I just hope when and if it ever gets completed it doesn’t fall apart and kill someone.
