I was very impressed with the quality of this island. It took almost 3 hours to put it together...time consuming, but not too difficult. There are a lot of pieces, but all the wood pieces were well marked and all the hardware was organized and numbered to coincide with the instructions in the manual. They even included some extra screws, cams locks and spring pins in case something was missing. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, although it did take two of us to complete the job. The granite top came in a wood crate that was screwed together to keep it intact. It was inside of a box, wrapped in plastic and cushioned with Styrofoam. The wood and the granite are beautiful and we are very pleased with the finished product. In my opinion, the island is very consistent with the advertised photo. I also liked having the option of putting on the casters OR the round wooden base support pieces (we chose the latter). We have the island against a wall in our kitchen and use it as a microwave stand and extra storage cabinet. It works perfectly. I was worried about spending hundreds of dollars and taking a chance on a product that you have to put together piece by piece, but for us it turned out okay. We were pleasantly surprised with the results. If you are willing to spend a little time to put it together, I would highly recommend this product.

Shortly after my husband and I purchased our house we realized, that although large, our kitchen was not set up well. I had almost no usable counter space, and that which we did have was really far away from the stove. I scoured the internet for something that would make cooking easier, but wouldn't destroy my bank account. I found this on another website for about 80.00 more, and decided to check Amazon just in case. Glad I did. Although it isn't huge, it gives me enough space to do most of my prep. I sometimes branch out to other counters if it's a particularly involved meal, but for the most part it works for me. I started keeping my most often used utensils, i.e. measuring spoons, peeler, dry measure cups etc in one drawer, and recipes in the other for quick reference. The cabinets provide ample storage space, again something we severely lacked, for all of my mixing bowls as well as my crockpot, cutting sheets a couple of cook books and my liquid measure cups (I have 4- all the way up to 4 cups). The black finish looks very sharp, and the design is a decently contemporary one. the only thing that I noticed that may detract from it, and I don't know if this is true of all stainless steel, that the occasional rust mark appears. I think it has to do with the salt I keep in the spice rack, (Side note on the spice rack, it's not terribly large, but it stores my most often used spices so I am cool with that) my husband knocks it over and it ends up on the top and I don't notice it until I go to cook and by then the mark is there. It does come off though. I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't have a lot of work area or a whole lot of space in general. It was a perfect fit.

This island has been engineered thoughtfully. But you have to be an engineer to assemble it. Very complicated but if you go slowly step by step it can be done. Beautiful when finished. We purchased the stainless steel top which matches the stainless steel appliances in our kitchen. It's a nice piece of furniture.

I like this very much. I gave it a 4 not a 5 because the granite top is hazy and not as sharp a black color as I thought. The jar is streaky and I can’t polish it out. It is very pretty and matches my kitchen cabinets almost exactly. I bought new knobs that match my cabinets. I keep it as a buffet in my dining room and roll it into the kitchen when I need extra counter space. It is extremely easy to roll on the wheels and steers very well.

The overall product is great. We set up with the feet, instead of the casters, and this thing is solid. With the granite top and cupboards and drawers full, it does not move without some good effort. At least one houseguest commented that it looked like it came with (built-in) the kitchen. All construction is quality and things like drawer hardware don't disappoint. Now, the reasons I could not give it more than four stars: By biggest beef is over a big (4" x 6"?) sticker on the "backside." Of course, it is an island, so there is no true backside; it is just opposite the doors & drawers. Of us, it is the side we see first when we enter the kitchen. The sticker is some nonsense (IMO) about California health regulations. I'm in Michigan; don't care. Even if I was in CA; wouldn't care. But the real problem is that this huge sticker is not removable by any stretch of the imagination. We have tried every trick in the book short of solvents that will damage the stained wood and we still have sticker and adhesive. What were they thinking? Moving on, one note of assembly caution, when you are installing doors, MAKE SURE THEY ARE RIGHT SIDE UP! The hinge pins snap into the top and bottom via springs and if you don't get it right, you're !@#$%ed. Lastly, it would be nice if it came with hole plugs for the situation where one doesn't want to install the paper towel holder and/or the spice rack. All in all, I am happy with it; so close to awesome.
