I bought this for my motorhome, to move wood blocks around under the coach to center them under the jacks. At $21It was fairly inexpensive compared to others, so I was really surprised at the quality. Back when I was boating (sail and stinkpot) I never had such a strong yet light boathook. This is really terrific. It is fairly robust, but collapses into a yardstick length. It locks with just a slight twist, and the lock really holds well. It goes out to 72 inches so you can use it to recover things you drop overboard. Buy this one for sure!

The best boat hook I have ever used. Super sturdy. Telescopes out and twist locks perfectly. Nice grey rubber grip on the end. Well made blue hook with grey rubber tips to prevent scratching. I gorilla glued my tips to prevent loosing them. I noticed someone wrote a review looking to replace a lost tip. The main tube is 1 1/4” in diameter. Well made and probably the last boat hook I will ever need ! Look no further and the price is perfect. Highly recommend this one. Don’t believe any bad reviews.

I bought this pole for my boat, to perform a myriad of tasks, from retrieving items that fall overboard, to fending off other boats or the dock during inclimate weather. it telescopes out very quickly, and so far the locking mechanism seems to perform well, even under pressure. the large plastic hook is versatile and doesn't damage the fiberglass.

For the price that you’re paying for this hook, you are getting one hell of a deal for a great product. This hug is sturdy, but light and the locking mechanism works fantastically.

I had hopes for this boat hook. I really liked it. Until the hook broke after about ten uses. I've bought a number of boat hooks over the past couple years. Most of them have had the hook break or the extension feature freeze up. I'm getting tired of buying boat hooks. These hooks are breaking during the docking of a 16 foot aluminum boat, not a cruise ship. This boat hook probably would have been a great one had they made the hook out of metal. I'm not sure why most choose plastic. Possibly because it is more profitable to sell new boat hooks constantly. I still have an unknown brand of boat hook with a metal hook that got relegated to my scrap pile because the pole locked up in the extended position. I thought about trying to put the metal hook on this Crooked Creek pole but the metal hook diameter is too small to fit this pole where it attaches to the pole. I may just cut my old pole to 6 feet and use it. It is unlikely its hook will ever break. Storing it will be a pain though since it is now a fixed length. If these manufacturers chose a plastic like nylon that was tough without being brittle and had give to it the hooks might actually last. I guess they don't think people would pay an extra 10 dollars for something better. Buying a new boat hook every year or two gets pretty expensive though.

This Crooked Creek telescoping boat hook was largest diameter offered so it is the sturdiest. It came at one of the lowest prices available. Pretty much a no-brainer. The hook on the end is large and thick enough for a substantial grab. The large rubber ball ends grip and protect for pushing off. Very useful tool. folds short enough to stow easily any where that is convenient and extends far enough for a substantial reach. I'm happy with this boat hook and I would recommend it as a handy tool for boats or pick up trucks or anywhere a reach is required.
