I usually don't give negative reviews, mainly because if something I bought is bad, I don't leave a review. As for this backup camera, after I mounted it to my back license plate, I connected the RCA cable from the camera to the head unit. The camera does come on, but not when I shift to reverse. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the camera does not come on. It will only turn on when I push the camera icon on the head unit. I know that the manufacturer put some instructions in the package on how to make the camera come on when the vehicle is put in reverse, without having to tap on the camera icon on the head unit. The problem with this is that the instruction that came with the camera conflict with what is displayed on the Amazon page for the camera. On each end of the cable, there is a short red pigtail wire. In the RCA that comes out of the camera, One set of instructions indicates to attach the red wire to the wire that is powered on when the vehicle is put into reverse( trigger wire ). The other set of instructions indicates that the red pigtail wire should be connected to the ground. OK, fine now what? I don't want to connect whichever wire is a ground wire to the hot wire for the reverse lights. That would cause a short circuit and we don't want that. Another problem is on both the Amazon page and the manufacturer's instruction indicates that if I need help with an issue, I should not hesitate to contact them. They fail to give a method of how to contact them. No phone number, no email address, or no address. All that being said, those are the reasons for 3 stars. If anyone out there on Amazon territory has such information, I sure would like to know.

My car is old and doesn’t have a back camera. I thought I would give Amazon a try. Surprisingly, it works. Very easy to install. The instructions were simple for me to comprehend. The quality is ok. Gets the job done.
