How to say I was pleasantly surprised how tasty this was. I am giving up coffee for health reasons and was looking for an alternative. It takes a little while with experimenting on the exact amount of coffee to use as well as what type of sweetener and creamer you use. I purchased this looking for something new in a hot beverage buy was I mistaken. I brewed the roasted cacao using the directions and both brewing methods suggested by the manufacturer. As directed; tbsp/per ounces of water, the outcome is hot water colored dark brown, flavorless! I increased the roasted cacao to water ratio with very little improvement. When caffeine and coffee are no longer options and herbal teas are not your thing, this is a good option to explore. Over the past several years, I have tried nearly all of the regular and seasonal varieties and have settled on several favorites. All are cacao bean based but the chocolate flavor and intensity vary. Some differ based on the region they are grown, some by the roasting process while others have flavoring added like mint, coconut, pumpkin spice, caramel, etc. I have found the best way for me to brew it is with a French press but there are other ways to try as well. Generally, for a 10oz cup I use 2 rounded tablespoons of grounds to the press, add the hot water, stir, and let it brew for 8-10min, press it and pour back into my cup and enjoy, some add creamers and sweeteners to taste. While it is convenient to order from Amazon, some of the CrioBru products are not offered there, so you may want to check out CrioBru's website for the full product line and seasonal offerings. The downside is that the product is a bit expensive. A good way to explore the various options without having to buy a regular sized bag of each is to order their small bag variety pack option to start. ... show more
