Description

Frameless masks are loved by many divers for their low-profile and ability to fold flat for easy carrying, even in a BC pocket. Cressi’s frameless design bonds a high-grade silicone skirt directly to a single lens for the ultimate in simplicity. The lens is made in tempered glass and certified by the CE (Communauté Européenne). The low-internal volume allows for effortless clearing and quick-adjust strap buckles are molded directly into the skirt for a flexible fit and reduced drag. It also represents an unbeatable value, with a cost roughly half that of similar masks. The Supernova Dry is one of the best dry snorkel available in the market. It has a unique Splash Guard at the top which greatly reduces the entrance of water during use on the surface. The special valve on top seals the tube as you dive, almost totally preventing the entrance of water when the snorkel is submerged. The end part has a corrugated piece that is smooth on the inner side and keeps the snorkel away from the mouth during use when scuba diving. A special water collection well, with a large elliptic valve, allows quick and easy expulsion of water. The replaceable angled mouthpiece and corrugated tube section are both made from Hypoallergenic Silicone adding comfort and function. A quick-release snorkel keeper and ergonomically contoured shape make this one great snorkel. The F1 & Supernova Dry is designed in Italy by Cressi and made in Taiwan. Cressi has been an Italian brand pioneer in scuba diving, snorkeling, and swimming equipment since 1946.The product is covered by a 2-year limited warranty.

  • IN DEPTH REVIEW. THOROUGH TEST.
Color: Black/Black, Classic
The few experiences I've had with snorkeling sets in the past, have been foggy, water-filled, water breathing experiences. I got this today in the mail, and the first thing I did was spend a few hours at the pool testing it thoroughly. THE SNORKEL ========== DRYNESS: I will start by saying that it was very difficult to get water into this snorkel. TEST 1: I tried submerging many times during inhalation, and it would seal shut every time before any water would get in. TEST 2: With my head submerged just under the water, I would let go of the mouthpiece while under water, and without having to come to the surface for air, I would use some of my held breath to purge the water it collected, and it was purged enough to grant me clean air again after a single blow. TEST 3: The only way I could get water in this snorkel was by turning my head sideways or face up before entering the water so that the snorkel would go in top first. COMFORT: The bend of the snorkel—the part right above the mouth piece—is made of a soft and flexible silicone, much like the skirt of the mask. This makes it very comfortable and easily adjustable based on placement/angle preference. TEST 4: I swam across 25 meter pool back and forth for over 20 minutes, and I was never short of breath with this snorkel. I am a 160 pound 5', 6" guy, and I felt it granted plenty of air for the heaviest breathing I could muster. THE MASK ========== COMFORT: Considering that I didn't strap it too tight at all, I could barely feel it pressing against my face. It is remarkably comfortable. I cannot see how this mask will not fit most face types. It has quite a long soft skirt of silicone that I think can mold to many face shapes, although I'm not sure about people with a very large brow to nose-tip length. Maybe. I'm not one, but I suspect that people over 6 feet tall with very long faces could have their eyebrows affecting the seal of this mask. (I'd read other reviews from tall people to confirm) ABOUT THE FOGGING: The fogging was not anything out of this world. I could spend 15-20 minutes with the mask on without any major fogging. The fogging is caused by nothing less than the air impulsively exhaled through our noses while we exhale through our snorkel. that happens with any snorkel. Purging water out of the snorkel would cause the most fogging, so if I needed to purge my snorkel, I would plug my nose (The nose-area is silicone which allows you to plug your nose with the mask on) and that ensured that my strong exhalation wouldn't cause fogging. I'm certain that with some anti-fog solution, this mask will be a perfect experience. I have googled to find anti-fog masks and the cheapest I find are $99 by themselves, because of the special treatment the glass needs. I don't mind putting some anti-fog solution on this one for this price. DRYNESS: I didn't have a single instance of water getting inside this mask after 2 hours testing this set in the pool. I would even blow through my nose causing air to escape the sides of the mask while under water, and water could not get in. I guess the only time a little bit of water got in, was when I did a little dive into the water without holding my mask. I just realized that I had quite a scruffy unshaven face, and it didn't cause any problems with the sealing. SURPRISE FEATURE A surprising feature about this mask is that it has some type of magnification. My feet looked about size 12 when I'm size 9. And my hands looked twice as close. I actually liked this, because I could see much better across the pool and things at the bottom of the pool. I'm glad it has this, because when I go snorkeling in the caribbean in a few weeks, I won't mind being able to see the sea life a bit closer. In summary, I have zero regrets in buying this set. I was considering the panoramic mask from Cressi, since that sounds very appealing to me, but the field of view in this mask is quite amazing, and from reading reviews on the pano mask. I don't think I'm missing much. It never crossed my mind that my field of view was too narrow with this mask. I hope this gives you confidence to buy this mask, by helping you know what it's like to use this mask. Stay Safe, Have Fun, God Bless! ... show more

Great product for the price. I took it scuba diving multiple times and snorkeling. The goggles didn't leak even though I have bangs. I had to burn the inside and put de-fogger to help with visibility. However, it worked better after the treatments mentioned. My hair does get snagged in the goggle strap when I take it off, but I LOVE the supernova dry snorkel! I was able to snorkel a lot longer because it kept the salt water out of my mouth. Great upgrade from my now back up set from US Divers. I had to pack light and so the goggle set went in my backpack, no scratches noted after a long trip and multiple packing/unpacking episodes. Great quality. Overall, it lived up to the name & reputation. ... show more

  • Great value, great mask
Color: Black/Black, Classic
This is a great mask and dry snorkel. I am an experienced diver and have had many different masks. For the money, this one takes the cake. Low profile, great fit, and doesn't hurt my face esp at lower depths when pressure increases. I've had much more expensive masks that I can't say the same about. Note, I have a relatively small/thin face (7 1/4" hat size) if that helps anyone. My 12 yo son (also a certified diver) also has the same mask and loves it. We recently bought a mask with a camera mount on top and neither one of us could wear it, as it hurt both of our faces. I won't mention the name as Amazon may on publish my review. Also if you've never used a dry snorkel before, these things are great. You don't have to clear the snorkel when you surface because it keeps any water from entering. You also don't have to worry about wave water splashing in while swimming on the surface, so great for snorkeling. If you're wondering about what color to buy, go with black if you're on the fence. While clear masks sound good in theory (can see more) they let in too much light and can be extremely distracting to the eye due to the may reflections. In very clear bright water they can be almost painful on the eyes. They also discolor over time (yellow). I would only wear a clear mask in very dark water/low visibility. And even then I still prefer a black mask as it allows me to focus more on my given field of vision. You can't go wrong with this set. As always try it on first if you can as masks fit every face a little differently. ... show more
