First of all, always only get tempered glass goggles. It will protect your eyes in the event of a crack or shatter. These are tempered with an all-silicone gasket for a good seal around your face. This is absolutely one of the most comfortable masks I've worn; the silicone gasket is really adaptive to my face - far more than the old school rubber ones, and there is plenty of contact with the gasket and my skin to create a reliable seal even as my face moves underwater. One thing that I found really nice about the design of these is the greater field-of-view underwater; if you look closely, you can see that the triangle of the glass goes down below the nose, letting you look far further than with traditional goggles (where you'd just see the plastic frame if you looked down). I thought that was a great feature. It did not come with a mesh bag or plastic case, and that would've been nice, but it did come with a reusable ziploc-style bag, which they said they did to use 85% less plastic, but to me is just asking for mold. When I'm done with the goggles, I let them dry as much as possible and store them in the bag to protect them, but I leave the seal open so air can continue to circulate around them. ... show more

One of 3 masks we tried on vacation. Overall, it is comfortable with just a little bit of nose smushing the longer you wear it. Luckily, that can be remedied by readjusting it on your face a bit. The field of vision is clear and wide. I especially like that the light aqua color virtually disappears under water. The mask does get foggy above water, but that disappears once you go under. The head strap is adjustable via push buttons on either side of the mask...super easy! The nose area is a nice size, so unless you have an extremely large nose, it should fit fine. Just remember that this is a MASK ONLY. No snorkel included. The suction was good and kept the water out. This was the priciest of the 3 masks we tried, but I liked it the best because the color practically disappeared under the water. It went on and came off easily with no skin or hair pulling, too. ... show more

This snowrkeling mask is very comfortable! The silicone is soft and pliable. It conforms to my face without any gaps or leakage. I really like the adjustment straps. All you need is to slightly tug on the straps to tighten, and to release tension, push the buttons on the buckles. So much better than the old style! This mask has a bit of weight to it because of the glass lenses. Definitely feels more substantial than masks with acrylic lenses. The glass is easy to clean, no issues there. My only complaint is that although the plastic ziplock bag is substantial enough to be reusable, it is too small and tight. So it takes some effort to shove the mask in it. It would have been nice to have an actual protective case, or at least the storage bag should have been a bit larger. Also, it would be nice if more colors were offered. When I got this mask, only black was available. I see that now they offer two more colors, but I would like to see more. Overall, this is a good basic mask, worth the price. ... show more

Note that this item has a California Cancer Warning on it, and the manufacturer has stated on the packaging (but not in the ad) that this mask is only for snorkeling on the surface and not for diving. This being said, the Ikarus mask is a good value for the money. The silicone skirt fit my face and created a solid seal with ease. I adjusted the straps once the mask was on my face and didn't need to keep adjusting it after that. Once I was in the water, the low-profile frame practically disappeared—it's that light. The lenses are tempered glass instead of plastic, which means the view stays clear and they hold up to scratches much better. I really appreciate the inverted teardrop shape because it gives you better downward vision. You can easily glance down to check your fins or watch fish below you. The side buckles are smooth to adjust, and once you dial in the right fit, it stays there. No constant readjusting needed. The mask is light enough to toss in your carry-on, and the skirt keeps its shape even after being crammed in a bag with fins and a snorkel. A quick tip on defogging: I used anti-fog drops before snorkeling, gave it a rinse, and my lenses stayed clear all morning. There are more detailed instructions on how to fit the mask in the packaging, which I appreciate as well. For the price, this is excellent value. You're getting tempered glass lenses, a comfortable silicone seal, and Italian-designed quality without paying premium brand prices. Cressi has a solid reputation, and this mask lives up to it. These are genuinely nice goggles. They are very well built, priced amazingly low for their quality, and produce no leaks. I have a narrow face and a pointy nose like Eminem, and they work great.
