🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Crave dog food appears to have been very beneficial to many users' pets, helping with weight gain and digestive issues, and being accepted even by fussy eaters. However, there are concerns about changes in the formula, some puppies experiencing softer stools, and the product’s rising price.

Pros

  • 🐶 Well-received by several dogs, even fussy eaters.
  • 🐾 Assisted with weight gain in underweight dogs.
  • 🍖 Supports dogs with digestive issues.
  • ✨ Results in healthy and shiny fur.

Cons

  • 💸 Price has increased significantly, making it less affordable.
  • 🧪 Some customers believe the formula may have changed, affecting the food consistency and pet's stools.
  • 🍗 Only one flavor (chicken) was generally well tolerated, as the meat flavor triggered sickness in some dogs.
  • 👵 No senior formula available, which might be a concern for older dogs requiring less calories.

Should I Buy It?

Crave has shown positive results overall and may be a good choice if the price and potential formula change do not concern you. Its suitability for different breeds, ability to solve digestive issues, and the fact that it's loved by even fussy eaters make it appealing. However, do watch out for potential issues with certain flavors and dogs with more sensitive digestive systems.

My Dog Loves It
Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
My dog has been eating Crave for a long time, and she absolutely loves it. She has an issue with her digestive enzymes, and this food has always agreed with her stomach. The kibble size is great. It always arrives on time, and the packaging is always in good condition. I’m very happy with the quality and will keep buying it. ... show more

💯Only food for my dogs for 10 yrs! ☺️ No health or weight problems
Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
💯Absolutely the ONLY food my dogs will eat!💚 My chi is 10 & has never gained or lost weight. Same for my 4 yr old Chi-weiner. I free feed the kibble so they can eat whenever. IMO they aren't nervous about when the next meal is coming-its always refilled b4 empty so no food aggression or overeating/inhahaling of food hence no weight fluctuations. Critical features for them is the perfect size. The second is it has a single & uniform taste & texture. Other brands seem to think different shapes, textures & taste all mixed up is best. Well most dogs I've seen pick out only the select pieces they enjoy! They leave the rest. When I've attempted to change they will pick out the ok 1 or 2 they like & leave the remainder by the bowl! They won't eat until I put out the Crave Chicken! I've tried to leave the 'offencive' kibbles as long as 2 days! No dice! Thanks Crave! You may be costly but I tried many kibbles & yours is their 10 yrs and going friend! ... show more

I would give 5 stars, but something changed
Size: 12 Pound (Pack of 1)
I buy this brand for over a year now. My dog have digestive problems, so I have to water the food and process it like baby food. Let’s start with the pros: - the adaptation was smooth. I did half and half from the beginning and she had no problems; - her hair looks great; - my dog went from 17.6 pounds (8 kg) to 26 pounds (12kg) in like 5 months (eating 100-120grams/day)! This made me very happy because she can’t eat a lot and have been struggling with low weight for a while. - their wet food is really good too! She loves it. And it’s a good price for the amount it comes (and the quality) Cons: - the price varies out of nowhere. It doubled for two to three months here on Amazon, I had to buy from Petco for that time. - the meat flavor made her sick. She threw up a lot! But again, she has digestive problems, so we can’t fully blame the food. I buy only chicken flavor now. The critical con: - I think they are changing the formula/composition if the food. And if it continues, I will stop buying it. Again, since I directly deal with her food twice a day, I have to pay attention to everything. In this last batch, my food processor started to get very greasy (I only use it for her food, so there’s no way it came from something else). Sometimes when we ran out of food, I get her Pedigree just to survive a couple of days. And that food sucks, folks. It’s very very greasy. The good thing of using Pedigree as an emergency was to realize how good Crave is, but:: now I can easily recognize something is wrong with the batch I just got. After I process it, I immediately clean the processor. Usually a quick water with soap solves, but now it was hard to get read of it. - her poop is starting to get soft. It didn’t happen before! For me, it’s another evidence they are changing the composition. She is reactive to new/different food. So if her poop changed and she has been eating the same food for more than a ear… something is different. Overall it is a really good food. However, if I keep seeing these alterations I’ll have to stop buying it. ... show more

Tastes great less mutt mitts.
Size: 22 Pound (Pack of 1)
I first purchased this food at the local grocery store in a 4 lb. bag while on vacation with a ridiculously great $5 off coupon good at the checkstand. I thought I'd give it at try because it was literally around five bucks after the coupon. Days later... ordering a 22 lb. bag from Amazon, and mulling a subscription... My rescue dog Ninja (45 lb. dog with amazing vertical leap) loved it so much that I've now ordered it from Amazon in a much larger bag. Lately he wasn't attacking his old food (Costco 'premium' house brand), but that hasn't been a problem once with Crave. After feeding him this food for a couple of days, I noticed that on our walks he has less <ahem> 2 than ever. He's doing it less frequently, and less at one time. But he's eating just as much of the Crave as he did the old food. To me, that means he's digesting his food more thoroughly, but I'll leave you to figure out what the difference was in the old 'grain free' brand from Costco, and Crave. Your dog will eat all his/her food. You'll have less 2 to clean up. That's a win all the way around. Or maybe you like picking up after your pup more than I do... ... show more

Great for a dog with food allergies
Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
I’ve only used this dog food for a week but it seems to be great so far. I have a high energy blue heeler, he runs a lot during the day so I was looking for a high protein dog food. He has food allergies which makes him scratch a lot, his hair gets an oily substance that smells terrible, his eyes get mucus build up, and he wasn’t sleeping well despite things I’ve tried to help him, none worked. Within this past week of eating Crave chicken flavor he has improved tremendously. I will buy again. However, I do think the price is too high. ... show more
