  • Really good looking stationary with a nice feel
To be honest I haven’t used it yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. It has a nice hand feel and a creamy color that makes me happy every time I see it there on my bookcase—it makes me feel like I’m going to write someone a killer letter soon.

  • Quality Writing Paper
Substantial, textured, high-quality writing paper for sending a personalized note on those rare occasions when e-mail just won't do.

  • Not The Best For The Money, Or Even The 2nd Best.
This paper is 100% cotton and highly textured, neither of which property is advantageous to writing with an extra-fine tipped fountain pen. The feedback from the paper makes an otherwise smooth extra-fine tipped nib feel scratchy, and the paper is actually unusable with a needlepoint nib due to the danger of damage. On the other hand, with a medium nib or larger, while the paper still provides significant feedback, I don't feel it interferes with writing as it does with finer nibs. I can't say I enjoy the way this paper feels at all, though it's personal preference and par for the course for cotton paper. Pros: + It is *very* heavy at 120gsm - heavier than G Lalo Verge de France! + I've found it possible to use both sides of a single sheet even when using the broadest nibs and wettest inks, within reason of course (very low absorbency). + Matching envelopes. Matching envelopes make me jealous since my favorite paper (Rhodia R 90g) has no matching envelope. I really wish Clairefontaine would release Triomphe stationery in Ivory, le sigh! Cons: - Company logo printed at the bottom of every sheet (not shown in the photo - why?). Watermarks are one thing, but having the logo printed on the page itself is really distracting and interferes with margin and line spacing preferences if you intend to use both sides of one piece of paper. Maybe I'm just picky, but this alone is reason enough for me to prefer G Lalo Verge de France for this type of paper, which performs just as well (though slightly lighter at 100g) as Crane & Co Ecruwhite but has no printed logos on it and costs about the same - magnifique! Remarks: - The paper is watermarked, which I don't mind. No stationery of this quality exists without one, so there's no use complaining even if I did. - Envelopes included in this set are not secure. Doesn't matter to me, but could be a con for some. - Envelopes are embossed with company logo. In the end, I can't say I would buy this stationery again, nor recommend it. However, it is of sufficient quality and performance to give it more stars than not. A solid 3/5 in my humble opinion! ... show more

  • Luxury stationary
I love Crane stationary. My mother bought me a set of embossed Crane stationary when I was a young girl. I still enjoy using this to write special letters. It is heavy weight and very elegant.

  • Write More
Everyone should have a set of these around for writing a note to a loved one or friend. Classy paper, absorbs heavy ink well (no smudging). I use it to write my daughter at college and parents on the East Coast. I have not found anything better and the price is better here than in the bookstore. My only wish is that it would have more paper; I typically run out of paper way before I run out of envelopes. ... show more

  • For Downton Abbey fans
Bought this stationery for my wife. We became addicted to watching the BBC/PBS series, Downton Abbey. I was intrigued by the small notes that traveled to the Earl and others through the mail. Then I remembered: there was a time in my life when much of our correspondence was written on paper and delivered to us through the postal service. It was nice to find a letter in the mail. Seeking to give my wife a spontaneous gift, I searched high and low for the small but special stationery that could be used for special notes and be reminiscent of a show that we really enjoyed. I recall giving stationery as a gift as a child. After all, children had little money. Paper and envelops were hardly expensive items, but still elegant in their way. Thankfully, Amazon provided me a way to buy this gift. ... show more

  • Exactly what I wanted to write an important letter
I had an important letter that I needed to write by hand. This paper was perfect. It looks and feels high quality. While it is thick, I was also able to put it on a legal pad and see through enough to follow the lines for my writing. I use a fountain pen and the inks I have tried have not bled through. I could write on both sides if I chose to. The complaint about the Crane logo is overblown. It appears on one side of each sheet of paper at the bottom in a light color and small font. I doubt I would have noticed except I was concerned and looking for it after reading the comment in a recent review. It is very unobtrusive, don't worry. ... show more

  • Not Crane & Co
This stationary is fine, but do not confuse it with Crane & Co. If you would like Crane brand without the “& Co.” - it can be found at lower pricing elsewhere. I made the mistake of thinking this was a higher quality product at sale pricing and returned the box when I realized what had happened.
