I got this as a Sanrio lover who not only has asthma, but has a cat with allergies. The mist is nice and cool and really helps my dry bedroom. Cat is a bit scared of it but it is very quiet so she isn't too offput by it. Nice size and good performance!

I originally decided to get a humidifier to help with nighttime congestion. I didn't realize how much it would help my dry mouth. I decided on a Crane humidifier after quite a bit of research. I liked that Crane uses BPA and phthalate-free plastics, as well as silver technology in their plastics. I had several questions about the product so I called the company directly and found them very helpful, which helped to sway my decision. While this humidifier takes up a fair amount of space, it is quite light in comparison to many others. I have C-spine nerve compression, tendinitis, and carpal tunnel in both arms so the weight of something I have to carry back and forth to the bathroom every day was a big factor. I only run the humidifier at night and every day, yes, EVERY day I empty both the tank and the basin. It's a huge pain but it's far better than developing mold and bacteria. Once per week I clean both the tank and the basin with a white vinegar/water mixture, as directed by the company. I have had no issues with bacteria or mold. The one challenge with this humidifier is the quality of my water. This is an ultrasonic humidifier and using hard water in it can create scale and white dust. Scale is a white, chalky buildup on the inside of the humidifier, caused by minerals in hard water. Scale isn't harmful but too much buildup will decrease the efficacy of the humidifier. Cranes sells a demineralization filter that is supposed to help but needs to be replaced monthly. Using distilled water completely eliminates scale but can get very expensive. My water is moderately hard so I don't have a ton of scale buildup or white dust but I do have some. Scrubbing the areas inside the humidifier where the scale builds up with a toothbrush and white vinegar seems to be doing the job for now. The only real issue I have with white dust is on the top of the humidifier, the ears. So far, wiping that area down with a paper towel dampened with white vinegar is taking this. I think as long as I do this weekly I won't need the filter or distilled water. However, I wanted to mention this because if you're new to humidifiers and haven't done your research, you might be quite confused or upset. Overall, I am quite happy with this humidifier and it meets my needs. Oh, and it's adorable! Why go with some ugly, blocky box on your bedside table when you can have an owl or an elephant or a dragon? ... show more

I bought this for a friend who is a big lover of Hello Kitty! I wanted to get her something cute and practical and found this! It's absolutely adorable and looks even better at night when it's lit! She said it has been very helpful during the summer!

Pro: extremely cute, easy to use, well built, can be used as a decorative piece (if hello kitty is your thing) Con: slight hissing sound when on, filmsy nob and button OK, so this is something a man wouldn't buy. Or at least will not display it even if he buys it :p I bought this for my wife who loves everything cute. We needed a humidifier and this serves as both so a no brained really. I find the build quality to be good in general. From the paint job to the casing and interiors, one can see a lot of heart has been put in making this. The only caveat is the somewhat filmsy nob that controls the intensity of the mist but even that is better than humidifiers in the same price range. Functions wise, it does give out a mist of vapour with adjustible intensity. However the most intense the setting, the louder the hissing sound but if your tv is on even at normal volumn, you won't be able to hear it. There is also a LED light that you can turn on for ambience but it's only really functional in low light as it is very weak. I won't count it as a con but rather as a little bonus. All in all a good package and something for the kids or the young at heart that is both functional and nice to look at. ... show more

My son really likes foxes, and he loves it! It stays in his room, and works really nice! It don’t have a light like the Hello Kitty, and is a little more money. If you put this on a dresser, make sure you put a towel down first, or it will be covered in water! The only downside is after about 1 night you have to refill it, but would still recommend this product, it works great! It make a nice addition to any room too. ... show more

My granddaughter loves owls as much as I do, so it was a no brainer when I came across it for a humidifier choice for her room, and this was a hit! Operating the humidifier is simple, easy and effortless! Even my 3 year old granddaughter can do it! You just unscrew the tank cap, fill the tank upside down in the sink, replace the cap, then (she needs help with this part) flip it over and place the tank back on the unit! It's that easy! I absolutely love that it includes a built-in auto-shut-off feature that engages when the water tank is empty to ensure safety. There's no reason to worry about the machine overheating and breaking with this built in feature! Not to mention they require less power than a standard light bulb, and the only sound you hear is a light misting that lulls the kids to sleep! .I love the cool steam vs warm steam concept to help avoid breeding bacteria, and it really does help her sleep as the cool moisture in the air moistens her airway and keeps her from getting more stopped up, which lets her sleep through the night. It's great not only for a stuffy nose or congestion,dry itchy skin, and chapped lips, but we also use it to keep her airway moistened during allergy season, as she doesn't get that dry tickle in the back of her throat that causes coughing when we use this humidifier! I don't even have to give her allergy medicine at night anymore if I run her humidifier. That in itself is an amazing benefit! I cannot say enough good things about it! If you lean over and hold your face over the humidifier, you can feel the cool mist and water will bead up on your face. If you have hard wood floors like I do, it's best to put a towel under the humidifier to catch any moisture that might fall and settle on the floor. I've never had a humidifier that was as effective as this. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great humidifier! ... show more
