  • Great compact size and a great upgrade for me
I have a drill set already from another well known brand and it still works well even though it is several years old. I saw this set and decided to treat myself knowing that Craftsman are a well known good quality brand. This arrived in its own official product packaging. Inside the box: 1 x Brushless Compact Impact Driver + instruction booklet, 1 x Brushless Drill/Driver + instruction booklet, 2 x 2ah Batteries + instruction booklet, 1 x Battery Charger, 1 x Belt Hook for the Impact Driver and 1 x storage bag. I was pleasantly surprised that a bag was included in this set, I didn't realize at the time of order that there was one. I charged up the batteries straight away. The charger is very small, I haven't seen or used one like this before. The charger is positioned on the top and clips onto the battery. As soon as the battery and the charger are connected the chargers "eyes" light up green. The green light blinks while charging and will become static once the battery is fully charged. I would say it took around a couple of hours to charge. The batteries have the usual test button at the end to check the charge. When comparing these batteries to others that I have on other tools these batteries appear to be more solid and durable and they do hold their charge well. The compact driver is just that, very compact. This is smaller than my old compact and I do like the size. This set is advertised on the box for being shorter than the average drill and compact driver. The weight is just right not too light and not too heavy. The rubber grip on both the driver and drill feels good in the hands and the triggers and forward/reverse switches are within easy reach, which is what you would expect. The back of the heads of both drills are protected by rubber along with rubber inserts on either side of the heads towards the front. At the base of each tool there is an led light which illuminates which can be very handy. In conclusion this is a great two tool combo set that I cannot fault and the price is very reasonable when you consider the brand and the quality. ... show more

  • A MAJOR Upgrade
I'm incredibly pleased with these. I've been using Craftsman cordless power tools for about 20 years. My dad bought me a set when I moved out on my own, and I've been using them ever since. In the comparison photos, I'm pretty sure the black electrical tape holding my old Impact together shows how much they've been used. I was a little hesitant to give these a try. Now made by Stanley Black & Decker instead of Sears, but after using these for a few projects, all my anxiety is gone. These are amazing. I'm not going to waste your time describing how power tools work, so I'll just focus on the differences between these and the old ones. Weight - The new ones feel significantly lighter. The new drill feels weightless compared to the old one, but feels even more powerful Sound - I loved my Craftman Impact, but when it was really giving the impacts, it wasn't exactly quiet about it. The new Impact seems much quieter and easier to work with, but feels even more powerful than the original. The battery life and durability of the new ones feel just as good as the old guard. A very good value. My only complaint is the level. My favorite thing about my Craftsman drill was the level. The level in the handle and on the side. I thought many times about upgrading to DeWalt or Milwaukee drills for my daily driver, but the level feature was too good. For those who aren't familiar, there was a level built into the side of the drill. That way if you were drilling into a wall (or similar) you could tell that you were drilling in perfectly level. Likewise there was a level on the handle of the drill, so you could tell if you were drilling perfectly up and down. Basically it turned the Craftsman drill into a mini-drill press. The levels were BY FAR my favorite features of the original Craftsman drill, and it hurts my heart that they're gone. I can't very well take off a star for not having a feature they don't claim to have... but still... But other than that... these are amazing. The drill is powerful and versatile for any project. The Impact is strong where you need it to be. ... show more

  • CRAFTSMAN V20 Brushless RP Drill / Impact Driver Compact - BUY IT FOR $129 on SALE!!
tl;dr: In the market now for a set and don't really care about battery ecosystems and on a tight budget for an excellent DIY (or light/medium duty trade work) drill/impact driver (with LED light) with carry bag, battery (with charge indicator) and charger, BUY THIS NOW FOR $129 on sale!! This set is very similar to the "Atomic" set I have from Dewalt I bought a few years ago from the HD. They both have a drill/impact driver, dual batteries (with the very cool LED battery charge indicator,) nice bag and charger, you could say they are nearly the same except for the branding. I've been using both for home DIY work and they both work very well (and both have a LED light, but in different positions but they both achieve lighting the target area) but they both suffer in one area and that it's easy to push in the battery, but a pain to remove it. I have ZERO hesitation recommended either brand, in fact, if you need a set now, buy either that 1. Fits into your current or future eco system of batteries and 2. Budget (at the time of review, it's $129, and absolute BARGAIN in the economy we are in today!) Similar Dewalt Atomic Set I have too: https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-Cordless-Batteries-Included-DCK277D2/dp/B0C3PQHGR7 ... show more

  • Very Good for Small Jobs
This is a very good tool set containing a cordless screw driver, small impact driver, two 2Amp batteries, and a charger. You have to already own or purchase any screw driver or nut driver bits. Both tools are well made and durable. They are of a good compact size and easy to use. A good addition for a DIYer's inventory for many years of service. The impact driver is compact and perfect for small DIY jobs. It is a good quality, sturdy, and well made. A perfect match and size for a 1/4" impact nut driver set. It has a lot of power but being only 2Amps, will not take on anything heavy duty such as vehicle lug nuts. It can also fit longer screw driver bit's should the need arise. Amazon sells a Impact screwdriver bit set with phillips and sockets that would be a perfect match for this. It has a built in lock that holds the bit's in place until you pull the mounting ring away from the tool to unlock. It has a thumb switch to control the transmission (speed) which at first seems a little stiff to move. A good feature is the thumb/finger switch that controls forward/reverse and will lock the trigger once placed in the middle position. The screw driver, is of the standard every day operation with keyless chuck. It will open up and hold any bit that is at or less than 1/2" in diameter. Speed is controlled by how much the trigger is depressed and a rotating ring in top to control the amount of torque needed. I have found that the battery life is good and usually only one is needed at a time. For a dead battery, the recharge time was 1 hour 45 minutes. As far as the cost of $180, you may find a set that cost less but it won't be of the Craftsman quality. They both have small work lights on the base of the tools that shine up once the triggers are released. After letting the trigger go, they stay on for 20 seconds. ... show more

  • Powerful & Compact CRAFTSMAN V20 Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit – Excellent for Home & Jobsite Use!
I received this CRAFTSMAN V20 Brushless RP Drill Driver and Impact Driver Compact 2 Tool Combo Kit through the Amazon Vine program, and it’s an impressive set that delivers real performance in a compact package. As a DIYer who tackles everything from furniture assembly to occasional home repairs, having reliable cordless tools makes projects much smoother. What I Like: Brushless RP motors: Both the drill/driver and impact driver feel powerful and efficient. The drill offers strong torque and up to 1,900 RPM, while the impact driver packs serious fastening power (around 1,800 in-lbs torque) with quick driving capability. Compact & lightweight design: These tools are noticeably shorter than many full-size options, making them perfect for working in tight spaces like cabinets, attics, or under sinks. Great balance and reduced fatigue during extended use. Complete kit: Comes with two 2Ah batteries, a charger, and everything you need to get started right away. Battery life is solid for most homeowner tasks, and the tools are compatible with the full V20 lineup. User-friendly features: Bright LED lights, easy bit changes, multiple speed settings, and comfortable grips. The impact driver’s quick-release chuck and the drill’s variable clutch work smoothly. Whether drilling into wood, metal, or masonry (the hammer mode on the drill is handy), or driving screws and lag bolts, this combo handles it with confidence. The build quality feels durable and pro-grade at a very reasonable price point. Minor note: For heavy professional daily use, you might eventually want larger capacity batteries, but the included 2Ah packs are more than sufficient for most around-the-house jobs. Overall, this is a fantastic value combo from CRAFTSMAN — powerful, compact, and reliable. Highly recommended for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, and light professional work. ... show more

  • I needed to upgrade, and these def fit the bill: Powerful!
I had been using the same 12V DeWalt drill driver for the past 10 years, but I found myself grabbing corded 1/2" chuck drill more frequently. For instance, the 12V was not up to task for drilling into brick or old growth rafter boards, had to bust out the corded. No more, the 20V is powerful and is up to these tasks! Picking up these drivers has a nice weight to them, not cheap, but also not super heavy. The weight is well balanced between the top motor and the bottom battery. And although heavier than a 12V analog, it's this added weight that has allowed me to bust out the corded drill. I find the battery life is great, but specifically ordered this combo to have access to an additional battery. Typically I'll only use one driver type per job, which means I can start the job with two fresh batteries. Typically one battery is enough, but if I do get to the 2nd one, I can always drop the first onto the supplied charger (with great indication lights, by the way). I also appreciate that this is the shortened version of the drill, which for me is important to get into tighter spots. So even though this drill driver is more expensive than other Craftsman models, note this is likely due to compactness (a premium I'm glad to pay). The short length means more versatility and ease of use. These 20V drivers are now hanging on tool wall above my daily workbench, and have been proven a great upgrade from my 12V! ... show more
