When I was preparing to move to another state, I sold my fairly new 12” Dewalt miter saw as I couldn’t justify the size & weight for the DIY home projects I get involved in. Excellent miter saw. Plenty of power to go through a 2 x 6. I have made more than 50 cuts thru 2 x 4s and 2 x 6s and still have sufficient battery power to do even more. This definitely is not a commercial product. But should handle any home project with ease. Just remember that it is only a 7 1/4 inch blade and if you want to cut anything larger than a 2 x 8, you need to get a saw with a 10 inch or 12 inch blade. I rarely ever leave reviews but this is hands down the best thing I ever bought on Amazon. Cuts beautifully and the battery lasts a long time. I also use it for straight cutting because sometimes I don't cut perfectly straight with the circular saw.

Didn't realize it was battery operated when I ordered but kinda like the idea so gave it a shot. My dad and I had a job redoing a bunch of oak trim in a house and this saw is great. Angles are perfect and light is placed where it makes a shadow on cutting surface like a shadow laser line. I thought for sure my dad wouldn't like it as he is a Dewalt man for everything but this craftsman saw so far so good. Will update if any issues too. July 2020: still love this saw. We use it at almost every job. The battery last a long time still and just started to notice blade needs to be changed. We use for trim, flooring and even cut metal schlutter (metal trim you put in before tile). We have events used to cut treated boards when doing a small porch job. Seriously can't say anything bad about this saw. Totally worth the price. I didn't get anything for this review either just love it that much. ... show more

I’m somewhat of a beginner using a mitre saw, but this one was easy to set up and easy to operate It’s making perfect cuts at 0° and 45° So far, I think it is a great value I was going to go with that black and yellow competitor but I’m very happy with this
