Generally speaking, I trust the Craftsman brand name, but there have been a number of changes over the years as Sears spins this brand name off. This chest tool box is really good quality and meets my expectations for a quality chest style box. I have an older version of the same box and this one is slightly better than the previous one. The finish is better and the drawer slides are smooth and high quality. My older box probably needs some lubrication on the slides since it is more than 10 years old. Truly a great deal for such a nice box, When it arrived it was much bigger than I expected, which is a bonus. Nothing like a sexy big ol tool chest on your bench! I've owned multiple craftsman tool boxes over the years, this one is just as I remember the quality. The roll of drawer liner is nice quality, and they giver you more than you need, almost twice as much as needed to single layer line all drawers and top area. I had enough left over to use the remainder of the roll as a good sized bench mat to help keep wood working projects from moving around when working on them, keep things in place when doing soldering/wiring etc. ... show more

My biggest concern was, would all my big power tools fit in the top and bottom compartments. With the rubber inserts in, every last one of my essential power tools fit in easily, with only the bf grinder (i call it the bfg) touching the top cover when its completely closed. That, and the biggest, best charger for the set juuuuust fits inside the bottom drawer with no room to spare top to bottom, but slides in and out easily every time. One feature i didn't know about till i got it here is that you have to open the top all the way to release the catch on the bottom drawers. At first, i thought this would be a problem since i often like to have my top box locked and bottom drawers open. Turns out these do close all the way back, and catch with magnetic assist so if the top is closed an/ or locked they will stay closed but unlocked, just the way i like it. Closing the bottom drawers before closing and locking the top locks all drawers. It is exactly sorta not as thick and sturdy as i would normally like, but it does make it easier to move around and overall i think it will be sufficient. I did take one star off because a 5 star box will be sturdier. The price makes that ok for me, so im keeping it. ... show more

Received the items on time, in good condition, no damage to boxes or the times inside. The Tool box sits neatly on top of the rolling drawers unit, with several inches of room to slide the tool box forward to be flush with the drawers or back and give yourself a bit of a shelf or resting are. Not sure why the top of the tool kit must be open to open the drawers, but it must. Drawers slide fine. I do wish there were an easy way to disable the lock that want to lock the drawers pretty much constantly. Fine piece of gear and great for what I'm using it for. This one is up in my office and reloading room. I may well get a second one for my garage. ... show more

Don't get me wrong, this is a great box. Fits my roll around, and it's current upper box. The biggest issue I had was trying to figure out which top to purchase. Just so you know, this box is 12" deep, NOT 18". As I say, it works perfectly with my current setup.

Seems that I've purchased more tools since I've retired than when I was working as a mechanic. I enjoy repairing and restoring old tractors . Wanted a box that would fit on a small wagon that I could pull near whatever i was working on. That way nothing would be just left scattered about. This box fits my needs very well and is handy enough that I put things back in place as soon as I'm through with that item. It could possibly be built out of thicker material to be a really long lasting box but for the price and reasonable care I believe it will work out great. ... show more

Well, My experience has not been very good with this product, I bought only one and I don't know how, but after placing the order more or less at the time, check to see the status of the order, 2 cabinets were purchased. I understand that there are many manufacturing materials today. But if the goal was to make something strong and tool metal, they certainly chose the worst material. One arrived fine, the other is dented on some sides, I assume maybe it was the transportation. But on the other hand, the thickness of the metal sheet used for the preparation is very thin for this type of product, it is better if they raise the price a little and choose better material for the preparation. It's not a cabinet to put heavy tools in, I haven't used it yet so I can't say much. But expect better quality. Here I leave the photos so you can see the damage with which I received it.
