My 4 year old got this for Christmas. The clay is a little hard for her age, but I helped. I would say a kid could do it independently at age 6. But she loved making the bowl and then painting it! We may be buying it again.

    • My 11 year old really liked making these.
The dishes do not harden after baking. They are easily bendable and can be broken. I am looking for a glaze to put on them and re-bake. My 11 year old and her friend still really enjoyed making them. They are cute, but not sure how long they'll hold up.

We made 2 but I forgot to get a pic of the first one. My grand-daughter loved doing this. It does take a little work to get the clay to work well but so worth it in the end! Highly recommend

The clay was totally unusable. It was dry and hard and cracked into a zillion pieces. I bought three kits for the grandkids and me to do together and I ended up returning them all. I did this craft with my granddaughter (age10). She could not make three bowls because some of the clay was dry and crumbly (see photo). Making a little bowl was successful, but the flat tray she made cracked and fell apart after baking. So this was worth 1/3 of what it cost.

So I got these as a fun project for my 5 and 7 year old nieces, didn’t see the for ages 8+, but honestly it worked out wonderfully, we spent a lot of time mixing clay and colors and yeah we probably over mixed but the turned out pretty good.
