I’m an a landscaper and after a full year of using these, I finally need to buy another. The pants made it through mud, rain, snow, and even through the summer (breathable). Lasted through days where I’d work on my knees on concrete and they didn’t end up with holes till about the one year mark. I recommend if you need some heavy duty work pants, or just winter pants (kept me warm during snow removal).

I wanted some fleece-lined pants because I was going to go out into the cold a bit more last winter and I didn't think I would be warm enough with just silks under my lighter pants. These pants worked great. I went ice fishing for the first time and they kept me pretty cozy. I especially like having the side slit pocket on the right leg that can hold my phone. That feature is what made me get these pants. There're two side pockets on the left leg - one narrow for a pencil and one a bit wider. I ended up removing the thread that made that pocket into two to make that pocket bigger. I can now put my wallet in that side pocket. I didn't need a narrow pocket there. I'm not sure I have a use for the velcro loop thing that's over that left side pocket and may remove that in the future, but for now I'll keep it.

Let me say that these pants cost me around $40.00. I did not expect high end quality compared to the big name hunting clothing manufacturers. With my expectation in check, I ordered a set to see how they compare to the Kuiu pants. In short they are not all that close, but I realized several things I like about these pants. They are sturdy and seem to take a beating. They are warm when doing winter activities, but when sitting for long periods, the knee area gets chilly even with merino base layers on. I wore them out in 20 degree weather with a 20ish mile an hour wind. Mostly sitting, and that’s when I knew that my knees were getting cold, but I needed to know the limits of these pants. On another hunting outing, I sat in -2 weather with almost no wind and was fairly comfortable, but again my knees got a little chilly. I noticed that if I stood up, this wasn’t an issue. I am sure if it was layered properly this could be overcome. I had a successful hunt that morning and had to really work to get the animal back to the truck. I noticed that once I got back, my phone had a severe amount of moisture on it. That’s when I noticed that when I am really active the pants hold moisture. This is a big negative if I was going to hike a long distance and then sit down to glass. Luckily my hunting spots are usually within a couple hundred yards of the truck in MN. The pants do shed moisture very well, but once the fleece on the inside is wet, they take a little while to dry. Turn them inside out to dry (pro tip). I have since used them to clear snow and build an ice rink for my kids. They do very well if I stay active, but again they get a moisture build up on the inside. The pockets are awesome! Well thought out and very roomy. I wear a size 34x32 jean and order the same in these pants. They fit perfect over base layers with room to layer on more clothes if needed. They also fit really good by themselves and a good riggers belt (they don’t bunch). The belt loops are exactly what I wanted. The spacing and sturdiness of the loops allow me to put gear on my belt and not pull down my pants, also keeps them from bunching up as I tighten the belt. I am giving these 5 stars. My expectation was that I was buying $40 utility winter pants, not high end hunting gear.

I got these for my husband. He needed a pair of waterproof pants to wear outside in the Winter when he is shoveling snow. We live in a cold part of the country, so these turned out perfect. The lining is great. The outer part is indeed waterproof. They are TRUE TO SIZE!

The Good: . Fit as expected, (34inches waist, size 34) . Fabric very resistant. . Had kept me warm in a not so extreme winter. . Washes good, no pilling. . When I expect serious action, I wear it. The bad: . Collects lint as crazy everywhere, even if you are at the most clean place in the world, it will attract fur, fluff, and anything static can put on it, maybe from another dimensions. This is a problem if you want to look clean and professional. . Not stretchy, not a millimeter. . Cut of legs are not straight, is more adjusted at the ankles than at the upper leg, giving me a granpa look.

Very warm! Almost to warm in 60 degree weather. Although says waterproof, that’s a hard no. But it repels water decently and keeps you warm. Doesn’t shed your heat and is practically wind proof. Excellent for survival. It won’t smell after multi day camping use and the pockets are strong. Very happy with these pants. Will certainly buy again.
