So first off this unit sometimes comes with a $50 off coupon. So watch for that. With that coupon I paid about $279 for the 10,000 BTU unit. Secondly, this unit is for vertical window openings. I did have to modify (cut) the slid rail that is inserted in the window, otherwise the exhaust adapter is cut off at least in half of expelling the hot air. I used an electric jigsaw. But I’m sure you can use a manual handsaw if you need to cut the plastic rail to size. I’m pretty sure our windows are standard size horizontal opening so it’ll probably apply if you have the same. As for the noise level, it’s a bit noisier than I expected. I believe it says 55 dB and my picture included shows it’s a little over 60 which isn’t terrible considering running water in the sink is about 65 dB. Mind you we do have central air but I don’t feel like running it and cooling off the entire first floor just to get the second floor bearable for sleeping. So I do believe this will save money in the long run instead of calling the whole house I can just cool the room off that I’m sleeping in. Last thing I’ll mention is I have an electric or digital temperature reader about 15 feet from the unit. I had the unit set to 70° and it turned off and the digital reading on my thermometer says 72°, so it seems to be a few degrees difference between the two. Otherwise for the price I’ve seen 10,000 BTU air conditioners like an LG go for $799. So price point I’m pretty happy with some cold air. On the high level it seems to kick in another fan and it takes about five seconds for it to kick in and it seems to blow just a little bit more forceful air but not a lot more and it’s slightly louder. The only other thing I mention is I have it up on a block about 12 inches off the floor and even at floor level. I don’t believe you can read the digital readout at a sitting position. You would actually have to stand up to see what degrees you have it set at. Kinda sucks but nothing terrible. Also there is only low and high mode. I have not tried the timer the air dryer, so I cannot comment on that. It took me about 25 minutes for my boxing, cutting and installing to having it running. The unit was easy to setup and work well enough to keep a single bedroom cool. I thought it might get the room cold but it did not, it was very very close which served our purpose. It kept the room cool and comfortable while our central unit was being repaired. We will keep it as a back up in case the main unit goes down again. Overall we were very happy with the product and its durability. Also I was surprised at how infrequent I needed to release the water - one time in four days and very little water… nice. ... show more

I bought this air conditioner because we are in extremely hot weather. I have no air conditioning in my appointment and I have a pet who still over heats even when inside. This product helped soo much. Thank you! The only thing that I would be concerned is the delivery. They had set it upside down. Instructions on the box were clearly marked This Side Up!! Luckily . I was on my way home when they delivered it so it didn't have to sit very long. Extremally important with air conditioners to be right side up. ... show more

I bought this portable ac unit for a small bedroom. It cools down the room fast bit it is a bit noisy. But when the temperature is above 90 and humid I do not care about the noise. Great air conditioner. I usually leave mine on dehumidify, which cools the air when exhausted out the window. I like that mode because it stays on and goes to fan mode when not cooling. Not sure how much water it really takes out (I have yet to drain it) It has run for over 1 month now.

I have an old house with windows that don't fully open so this was a good choice. Super easy to set up and install. It quickly cools the room and removes humidity. I've had the unit for four months and it has worked pretty good. I've only drained the unit twice and each time it was only a small dribble of water and I'm in a very humid environment, which I'm pleased about. Unfortunately, the air intake has a nice filter, but the condenser coils on the back of the unit do not, so a large amount of dust has built up with normal use. I just ordered an air-blower to blow out the back, but I'm probably going to have to cut the plastic grid and install my own filter system. I don't know why they didn't put a filer on the back by the coils. ... show more
