When they claim it lasts all day they are not lying! This came recommended by a friend and I’m on my second. No more experimenting. I just hope this is never discontinued. The color accuracy is pretty close to description/picture and the gloss that comes with it is not only moisturizing, but it adds the perfect amount of shine.

Plum berry is a beautiful shade, though I thought it a little dark for my aging, medium-fair complexion. Though when I wore it today I received several compliments from friends. I think this would be a fabulous shade for someone with a darker complexion. The package says it lasts "up to 24 hours." It is indeed long lasting but on me it lasted less than 7 hours. Still better than a normal lipstick. Like all the long-lasting lip paints I've tried, this one is drying, even with the clear top-coat. Speaking of the top coat, this one smells sweet and yummy, unlike another major drug-store brand I've used previously.

I love this brand of lipstick. I have about 10 different colors I wear. I put it on once in the am and reapply the top coat often. I am addicted to that 'lip balm' feel on my lips, have been for almost 30 years. this lipstick allows me to have the look of lipstick without reapplying and have my 'balmed' lips to boot. application notes; you must have clean, dry lips. I always wipe my lips with a towel before applying. you can only apply it while it's wet, no going back over dried lipstick to touch up - it causes it to flake, so make sure you got a good amount of product on the applicator to work with. I have one color that is almost gone and kinda dried out. I can't get much of it on the applicator, but I keep trying. it dries almost instantly on my lips, so it doesn't leave me any wiggle room to make sure my lips are evenly covered before it sets. once it's set, you gotta live with it or remove it. I use coconut oil to remove it in the evening. I carry the top coat with me everywhere, in my pocket actually. like I said, I'm an addict. I buy the extra top coats by themselves as well. Also, if you are having issues with it flaking or coming off, you may have got an old tube or something. I had one color that I reordered a few times, one of the times I got it, it wouldn't stay on very well and flaked. I had the color before with no issues, so it was either a bad batch or was just old. Also, I'm so used to wearing these long wearing lipsticks that are painted on, that if I use regular lipstick, I'm not used to it and end up with lipstick smeared around the corners of my mouth from eating or drinking. I vaguely remember the days of having to be careful with lipstick on, and wiping the corner of my mouth to make sure it wasn't smeared - a necessity when you wear dark lipstick. I'm so spoiled by this stuff, that I am never going back to regular lipstick that smears! this color is very close to my natural lip color - which is what I wanted, but it has a little shimmer to it. I don't really care for the shimmer. all the colors lately have shimmer to them. I wish they had some that don't. if you look on the covergirl website, it's hard to tell if they are shimmery by the photos!! The first image on the left is after 8.5 hours of wear. The photo on the right is immediately after application.

It has always been the best as long wear. It cab truly stay on 24 hours if you do not remove it. I have worn this for probably 35 years and I cannot believe it has been discontinued. I have tried other brands from inexpensive ones hawked on social media to expensive brands and NOTHING compares to Cover Girl Outlast for staying power. Nothing. What is Cover Girl thinking? Did they sell their formula for a boatload of cash to someone? Anyway, I am getting as many pink shades as I can while the getting is still good.
