10 stars for Covergirl being cruelty free! Good quality and it stays on until I wipe it off, even after I brush my teeth and go to bed, it is still on! Love the lip gloss that keeps it from feeling dry. I usually buy a different shade but wanted to try a new one. It is always hard to judge a color from a photo, but this one is not the same, which is why I removed 1 star. I know it is a "neutral shade: but it is actually too neutral and barley looks like it is on. In the photos it has a pretty peach color, but it is only a shade or two above having bare lips. If I just wanted a lip gloss, I would buy that and having almost no color is a waste of money for lipstick. Will absolutely still buy this brand again, just in a different color. ... show more

I am so happy with this COVERGIRL Outlast Lip Color in 940 Deep Cool. The shade is the perfect match for me, and the included gloss gives it a beautiful, comfortable finish. The staying power is the real deal. I even wore it through a meal and the color was still there! One big tip: make sure to follow the instructions—apply the color and wait for it to dry completely before pressing your lips together. Once it’s set and you add the gloss, it doesn’t budge. This Top Coat is a clear product that adds a smooth, glossy finish over lipstick or even on bare lips. It applies easily and makes lips feel slick and comfortable, giving that nice “gliding” feeling when your lips move against each other. I also appreciate that it’s unscented, which is a big plus for me. As a gloss or top coat, it does what it claims — it adds shine and smoothness. However, one issue I noticed is that when you apply it over any colored lipstick, especially darker or heavier shades, the color transfers onto the applicator. You’ll definitely need to wipe it off before the next use, which is a bit inconvenient. In terms of moisture, it feels nice, but I personally don’t see a huge added benefit when using it over lipstick. Where it does shine more is when used alone on natural lips as a basic moisturizer with a glossy finish. For that purpose, it works well. Overall, this product is fine, and I’m glad I tried it, but it’s not a necessity for me. I could easily live without it unless I was specifically using it as a simple lip moisturizer rather than a lipstick top coat.
