It it hard to find a full 2-quart blender with a glass container, and that also had a powerful motor. This German-engineered CSS (Carl Schmidt Sohn) unit really hits the mark. It turns ice into snow with just a few pulses. I will need to work a bit to find the best way to make it more like crushed ice. I like the fact that it has the chemically-inert, large 2-quart glass container for blending up juices and cocktails, but it also has the smaller stainless steel unit (works well for smaller drinks and ice crushing). I have not really found a use for the mason jar/mug with the sealable top and straw, as I was hoping there would be some way of attaching it directly to the blender (there is not). But if you like smoothies with a straw and a screw-on lid, this will work. It is fairly tall at 18" including the lid, so it will not fit under our upper cabinets. But I expected that. Overall it is a high quality unit that I expect to last a good long time and to give good service -- and I will definitely update if it does not. ... show more

I had a prior model and loved it for two years. Decided to replace, and this one just doesn’t work right. It leaks, I can’t get the jar off without unscrewing the base in the process, and now it just tore apart the motor.

    • A simple, straightforward blender
I bought this to replace my old Ninja blender I've had for 6 years and wore out. I'm happy with the strength of the motor and sharpness of the blades to make my daily smoothies. Speed options are limited, but meet my needs. It's not too loud. It comes apart easily for cleaning. Attractive enough to leave on the countertop. The bonus mug is nice to take to work. I haven't used the grinder accessory yet, but will update this review when I do.     • What a piece of junk
The first one I got didn’t even work at all so I sent it back and exchange it for another one that worked on one smoothie and wouldn’t work at all. It doesn’t lock in place and it doesn’t engage or turn on. I am so fed up.

I absolutely love my new blender and use it daily for smoothies and coffee “Frapuccino’s.” It does an excellent job of pulverizing ice and blending. This blender is amazingly powerful, even the low setting. Making smoothies and milkshakes take just a few seconds to whip up. The one downside side it’s too powerful for the small bowl attachment. I wish there was a slower setting for the attachment bowl. Overall grade is an A-.

My husband makes a lot of different wonderful Indian dishes and sauces. In the past, the prior one we had just was too small and took long to blend. This one is perfect size and has the different options. It is also very easy to clean which is important as he uses it multiple times for a meal. It is also very easy to use. Worth the money.
