I've been looking for 9006 and 9005 LEDs that have molded mounting flanges. The Cougar Motor Lite 9005 + 9006 fan-less lite kit fills the bill nicely. The LED's have a solid aircraft aluminum body with the 9006 and 9005 flanges integral to the LED assembly. Additionally, the Cougar Motor Lite 9005 + 9006 are fan-less to avoid the potential for fan failure. They were easy to install. I found that most 9006 and 9005 LED's are made with mounting flanges that are molded rings that are fastened to the LED body with one or two screws, In the worst case of this design that I have tested is a LED brand that has one screw securing the mounting flange. That resulted in an LED unit that is not stable when inserted into the headlight fixture (the flange is solid in the headlamp socket but the LED body rocks in the flange and allows the LED chip to move out of position with the focal point of the headlamp fixture). I did notice that the driver's side high beam (9005) is strangely defused, projecting a noticeable irregular pattern on the garage door. I swapped the drivers side LED with the passenger side LED and the defused pattern remained on the drivers side. Both 9005 Cougar Motor units produced a perfect pattern when installed in the passenger side head lamp. Looking back I found my purchase records where the passenger side headlamp assemble was replaced with a Dorman 1590045 after market unit when head lamp lens was broken by a rock impact. I've ordered the driver side Dorman 1590044 headlamp assembly to correct the problem with the high beam pattern (and because the drivers side headlamp mounting clip had been damaged by the auto-body repair shop that replaced the front bumper last year). The solid flange of the Cougar Motor units was instrumental in identifying a problem between the two headlamp assemblies on my car. The previously used LED units with screwed on flanges also produced an irregular high beam pattern but was not as pronounced and so did not point to the problem with the drivers side head lamp assembly.

Most H7 bulbs have the power connectors coming right out of the back of the bulb housing which gives unrestricted size to connect power to the bulb. This unit has the power plug pointing downward - which isn’t a problem in and of itself - but the fact that they build up the venting system around those plugs now makes the size and connecting design of your power plug important. If you have a fairly slim lined power connector, then these bulbs will work just fine for you - even in the cupped safety mechanism - there was enough room for it in my vehicle. However, if your power connector is bulky or thick, it would be worth your time to measure the connector you have and reach out to the manufacturer to determine if you plug will fit inside of the vented design of the bulb. We got these installed pretty quickly - two stage install - first is take the securing plate off the light and use the cotter pin locking mechanism to hold the plate in place - second is placing the bulb inside the locking plate and securing it by turning it until it holds in place. Once that is done you connect power and you are good to go. Great bulbs, just make sure your power connector will fit in the design of the downward firing plugs setup.

My headlights burnt out and since I’m buying another set I figured I try a highly reviewed bulb like these. I didn’t have high hopes as these bulbs didn’t seem to have a heat sink in them like the separate heat sink others that I seen online do. When these came home they weren’t in the best case or box in the world. I will have to install them and then update my review accordingly

I picked up these lights for a Honda Pilot, and oh, what a difference! Both the low and high beam lights are so much brighter, and they make a huge difference at night. If you haven't upgraded your halogen lights to LEDs, you're missing out.

These look to be well made and most importantly were a hassle free swap. The seal on the looks meaty and worked better than the Osrams I took out. They are very similar in size to regular old H11 bulbs, so you should not have any rear clearance issues. Only in the tightest of installs do I see any issues. See the picture for a comparison and grab one with a pigtail if you think the LED driver will stick out too far. As of now 5 stars for a seamless swap. If this is the end of this review they have stood the test of time!

These took 10 minutes to install and fit easily in the headlight shells of my Subaru Outback unlike other LED bulbs that claim to fit but are much too large to allow re-attachment of the weather shield in the rear of the assembly. These are a major improvement over the stock halogen bulbs.
