This was a blind buy for me and probably my best blind buy. I have many men colognes, more than 100 and this is one of my favorites, and you won't find a better bargain IMO. I gravitate to woody type scents and to me, it is kind of a powdery woody scent, kind of similar to Coolwater and Polo Green but leaning more powdery. After drying a bit, you get more of the woody scent. Longevity is just as good as most of the fragrances in my collection, including some of the EDP's.     • Good Old School Scent that Lasts

To be honest, I'm into colognes, especially the old school scents, from discontinued ones from Chanel and YSL, to the much less expensive ones like this one, Aspen. I don't like to be drenched in a cloud of perfume, I just like smelling them and occasionally wearing them light. The sense of smell can bring back memories and vibes and this one has that power. This cologne reminds me of Christmas Eve, a long time ago, when everyone got cologne from the dept. stores in their pile of gifts. This one, Aspen, reminds me of walking into my grandparents house, where everyone was all dressed up and the house smelled like a perfume counter, with everyone all ready for church and then Santa. It has that old style, yet agreeable smell, like walking through the grooming aisle at a drugstore from the old days. But where this cologne shines today, along with a couple of other inexpensive old school scents, is how it defines the man wearing it by the end of the day. It's like it blends with a clean but hardworking guy's natural scent, their own body chemistry, to give off an air of authority and competence, not like someone who plays around with being trendy. Very fresh smelling, green foresty scent. Doesn't have "cologne" vibes and kind of reminds me of Herbal Essences shampoo if you remember that. Definitely an every day errand, work appropriate type of fragrance. Not really a date night or seductive fragrance.

Here's another blind buy that turned out to be a big disappointment !!! I sprayed it on me and after just a few sec. This pungent artificial chem. Smell was quite abundant. And it did mellow out a bit later on (4hrs) I'm giving this 3 stars... I'm trying to be nice about this...
