I got these to replace a pair of Maui Jim Seafarers. I think the lens quality is equal. The frames seems more sturdy on the costas, maybe because they are more flexible and can absorb more shock. The frame style is very different, I like the MJ's better, but time to move on. I wish I could get the Costas with prescription, but the would require not having the costas 580 lens. The rubber pieces on the frames fall apart within 6 months. And Costa charges you $20 replaced the frames. The quality has went way down over the last 4-5 years. Costa quit buying your cheap shit from China and start making them again in the U.S.A

Costa makes a great product but buying shades online is not the way I would go again. They have a tight fit and are too small for my melon. Had I tried these on I would have selected a different pair. As far as quality goes they are excellent.
