  • This is the best water block I have ever owned!!!
Size: 2080 Ti Founders Edition Style: RTX 20 series
This review is for the RTX 2080 Ti water block. I upgraded from an EK Vector which had been released 3 times with 3 different sets of screws and instructions. I had to reseat 6 different times to make it get decent temps(48C on full load). I’ve used EK in the past and they had good stuff but Vector was a disaster. The few screws is what lead to the inconsistent temps and constant reseating. When I did research on the Hydro X I had found out that Corsair had recruited the top talent of EK to create the Hydro X line. That explains why I had problems with the Vector. The Hydro X has a flow indicator, RGB, twice as many screws, included backplate, nickel plated copper, pre-applied thermal pads, pre-applied thermal paste and a well machined design. The quality of the manufacturing was top notch. This was a very complete package. I never expected being able to have my cake and eat it too in water cooling. There is always a tradeoff from brand to brand with the exception of Aquacomputer which is legendary in the water cooling community. I’ve been water cooling for over 15 years so I know my stuff. The real install takes place when the original block has been removed, thermal paste and pads removed and Hydro X ready to install. That portion took a total of 10 minutes if not less. I was blown away. The 3 parts I liked most was the pre applied thermal paste, pads and the ridiculous amount of screws you had to put in, which is a VERY GOOD thing in water cooling because it ensures a perfect and even distribution of pressure thereby allowing only one install rather than several reseats. I was so happy that it was so simple to do. A child could do this. The performance was top notch. I have a JBJ 1/4HP (although I recommend a 1/5) water chiller with a 8.5 gallon brew kettle plumbed up and the full load temp was 31C and idle was 19C with my water chiller set to 25C. When I swapped out my brew kettle to a dual 5.25” bay res load temps went to 39C full load. Still 10 degrees cooler than the vector with the same setup. Corsair Hydro X is my new brand of choice. However their reservoirs are a little small for my tastes. I wish they had a 360mm res. If you have been thinking about doing this I highly recommend you upgrade from any other brand to this. Everything Corsair releases is top notch. Thank you for making my water cooling experience stress free. Before hyper inflation impacts everything I plan to upgrade my MB, CPU and RAM to MSI MEG X570 ACE, Ryzen 3700X, and Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB. I will be upgrading to the Corsair CPU block and the Watercool Heatkiller northbridge chipset waterblock. Corsair really needs to make motherboards and chipset waterblocks. Either that or buy Asrock/MSI. The chipset fan is way too loud on any motherboard so I think they would have a nice marketing niche if they did this. All this is installed in my Lian Li DK-05X, best computer case/desk I've ever owned. ... show more

  • Good for smaller builds as it reduces the size of the card. Good cooling. Pretty easy install
Size: 3080 Founders Edition (3080, 3080 Ti) Style: RTX 30 Series
Some things to know. (This is the 3080 FE version) 1. The thermal pads don't have paper to peel off. 2. There isn't much contact with the backplate. just two tiny thermal pads. 3. When you are disassembling the 3080 FE, for me, the T5 screws were quite stuck with the locktite. On two of them I sort of stripped the heads because they are very soft. Make sure your T5 screwdriver makes good contact. If you strip a head though, since the heads are soft, I was able to get the screws loose by just pressing hard with a small flathead and was able to break the locktite on it. Dropped my temps by > 25C. Hard to really compare since the temps are approx 25% lower but there are no fans now. Also the card is cool to the touch. Running intensive benchmarks and my card is at 41C. The Memory Junc sensor has peaked at 72C. This sensor was not readable in HWInfo64 when I was running the card prior to installing the water block but reading online it hits >100C with the stock cooling. Looks a little precarious with only two little screws that hold on the mounting plate (that you have to transfer from the stock cooler. Make sure you slide it in before putting in the two screws there. After installing it though it does seem pretty solidly attached. But with hard tubing you get lots of support from the tubes as well, so I didn't need to use any kind of extra brace to support the card. (As it makes the card so short, usually the standard braces won't work for it anyway.) Really good for the price. Much cheaper than the EKWB version, though that one does look much prettier IMO ... show more

  • Great product, which it had complete coverage for the PCB
Size: STRIX (3090, 3080Ti, 3080, 3070 Ti, 3070) Style: RTX 30 Series
This waterblock is really great in terms of both looks and heat dissipation but unfortunately it doesn’t cover the entirety of the PCB. Comparing it to the EK water block (which I swapped for this) shows there are some areas with no contact on the block which is not a huge concern generally given that the overall temperatures of the GPU are good with the Corsair water block. However it does make for a hotspot which might be problematic and I think it can be prevented with minor design alterations. All in all it’s a decent water block and it’s fairly straightforward to work with even for an inexperienced user. ... show more

  • NOT MUCH TO SAY (FANTASTIC)
Size: 3080 Founders Edition (3080, 3080 Ti) Style: RTX 30 Series
I bought them out of pure curiosity and because of their low prices plus the EKWBs I have after 2 or 3 months of use appear to be broken, they work fine but the appearance deteriorates, really disgusting on the part of EKWB, install several of these in a Mining rig that I have and they are very good, cheap but above all zero installation drama. The temperatures are as good as those of EKWB, I would even dare that they are better by about two or three degrees Celsius, I have mining RIGs that are exactly the same but the only difference is that some have everything EKWB and others CORSAIR, assembled in the same way and everything is the same, they only differ in the waterblocks and the CORSAIRs are always kept a few degrees below the EKWBs. This is a product that is very easy, you just disassemble your video card, put your video card inside the waterblock and screw it that simple you have NOTHING TO DO, it is simply disassemble and assemble again. SIMPLE, ECONOMIC, WELL-MADE, AND EASY TO INSTALL What else do you want? ... show more
