This is a shovel that was made to be abused. This is the sturdiest shovel I've ever seen. Great for digging amongst roots and gravel. Good luck breaking this. Nice grip for your foot too.     • Seems Pointless
I got this shovel because I wanted something sturdy to last a long time. I bent it on the first day using it to dig out some crape myrtles. I messaged the seller to ask about warranty/replacement, they said that they will not replace it and the shovel would not bend with normal use. So, if an all-steel, heavy, expensive shovel cannot be used for difficult landscaping jobs, I don’t know what its purpose is. The average shovel can be used to dig up dirt and rocks just fine. A Husky brand shovel from Home Depot weighs less, costs far less, and if you do happen to break it they will replace it for free, which is how good warranties work. Get this shovel if you need one that is stronger than average, but you don’t plan on being too hard on it. ... show more

    • This shovel is a beast in the best way
I've been digging up smilax roots and invasive coral ardesia shrubs. Broken handles on several shovels - both wood and fiberglass. This shovel is the answer. It's not light, but it's very sturdy. Works wonderfully to pry up roots. Would buy again.

I love Corona products. All of their products that I have used has been excellent quality. My wife had a fit spending the money on this shovel; luckily for me I have used this shovel before. I knew it would hold up to me. I’m a big guy and have broken a few shovels on jobs before. I bought this shovel for the sole purpose of digging up trees and bushes for new landscaping. Roots of small trees are not an issue at all. One to two strikes will cut through most. Bushes are a breeze if you can work as a team with someone 2-3 well placed strikes and the bush is out! If you are not used to manual labor; this shovel will put you in check. Not the lightest to be digging with all day but definitely the toughest! ... show more

Had this over a year now, used to dig holes in clay soil, and lift and level large sections of cement patio. Works great, blade is still straight as an arrow. Broke two "heavy duty" shovels from local home improvement store before I finally bought this. It's heavy for sure, but that can be a blessing when digging in hard soils.
