The media could not be loaded. After you were soaked in an other extra large tent with kids and had to pack under heavy rain in the middle of the night in the mountains and had to drive home in those conditions, you will be very careful picking a tent for your family with younger kids and slight chances of rain. This one came 30 minutes before pouring rain and thunder. We set it up quickly and had an awesome chance to test it. It is awesome and worth every penny. I got 14x10 blue Grizzly tarp to place under it, even though the floor here is very durable. But just to keep it clean and to let longer. That tarp is about 13.8x9.8 which is perfectly what’s needed for a tent. This tent is truly weatherproofed and especially rain proofed. With all the windows and doors rolled down to let air in, rainfly protects the whole tent not letting even a drop in. Tent stays absolutely dry inside, but make sure all the stakes are in and all the cords are placed correctly otherwise water will be collecting on the top. Water won’t get in, but collected water gets heavy and that’s just to prevent the roof from bending down. So make sure everything is installed correctly. I love to be inside listening to the rain and at the same time staying completely dry. This tent is very roomy. You can fit four queen size mattresses, but gear will have to go to the awning outside the door. There are two of them. It still will be covered and dry, sitting on the grass (or ground), but I prefer to have maximum three queen sizes and all my gear inside, including little table and all the chairs and backpacks. Shoes can still go to the awning. Divider is also a nice idea. You can have two separate rooms. I was worried about being too dark inside the tent even during the day, but I was wrong. With full rain fly on, during heavy rain it’s still get enough light, so you can easily read, ply board games and even do diamond painting inside. Great tent and can serve perfectly well to save family camping trip even during heavy torrential tent. Your family will still have a great camping experience, listening to the rain and enjoying time together in the tent. ... show more

A bit part of the decision to purchase my tent was in selecting a company that would stand by their product. I looked at the Core Website and the About the company section. Their story was very appealing to me. They state that they are a group of folks who left their corporate gigs to start a company that they could be proud of. Based on their extraordinary customer service and high quality product, they are living their mission. The tent is perfect. I wanted one with a full rain fly and Core is one of the only companies I found that have those. When the tent arrived we set it up and unfortunately it seems that a machine snagged the tent during manufacture and there were a total of 5 small holes in the mesh and one in the side of the tent. I immediately checked to return the tent to Amazon but to my dismay they had sold out of this type of tent and not even Core has them in stock. I then reached out to Core to see what could be done. Their customer service responded within the promised 48 hours and asked me to upload photos of the damage, the model number and the receipt. Within 24 hours of my upload they responded and told me that the tents are sold out but that as soon as they receive the new batch they will be sending me a new one. They also are sending patches for me to use on the existing tent so that I can still go camping in the meantime. As for the tent, it is exactly what I am looking for. once it was unpacked it literally took less than 2 minutes to unfold and set up. The rain fly was on in less than three minutes. Once the tent is up it does take a bit longer to set the guys and stake the tent to the ground. It's a wonderful tent with excellent quality and we are looking forward to many camping adventures in it. Core is a really great brand. I will plan to purchase other camping supplies from them as I know they stand behind what they manufacture. ... show more

Great tent!! We're older folks, used this on a 5 night camping trip. Fit easily into a car top carrier for an Outback, with extra room for gear. The tent (6 person) was spacious for two, and very easy to assemble and disassemble. Heavy duty fabric and zippers worked well. We kept dry during rainstorms, and the full rainfly was awesome. We sprayed with waterproofing spray before using, but likely would have stayed dry regardless. We also loved the extra privacy the rainfly provided, since we camped with a group. ... show more

I just tested it out to make sure it is in good condition before we leave on our trip. this is the 9 person instant cabin. Setting up the main tent literally took 5 minutes my first time it was pretty easy. All of the stitching looked solid and there were no holes anywhere near the stitching. Many areas are taped/glued behind the sewing for the zippers so that is a plus for keeping water out of the tent. the floor area seems sturdy and is the thickness of your average waterproof tarp. the rain fly slides on pretty easy and takes about 5 minutes to align correctly and another 5 minutes to drive all of your stakes into the ground. there were a few rough spots in the bug netting for the windows where the strings were slightly separated but they were not spread out enough to let mosquitos in from what i can tell. The only main complaint is the top fabric supports at the very center of the tent which helps keep the tent attached to the poles seem small. I would think the main runner going the whole length of the top of the tent would we wider with a wider strip of fabric sewn in to support holding up the tent. These are also the same fabric areas that are stitched into the areas where you would hang your lights etc so I just think they should be a bit more robust but thats the only area that worries me. I am using this for 5 months in alaska so I will update if it fails terribly lol. ... show more
