After two weeks of researching and comparing tents, I decided to invest in the CORE 9 Person Blackout Instant Cabin Tent, choosing this premium blackout model specifically to improve sleep quality while camping. Unfortunately, when opening the tent for the first time, I discovered one of the pole protectors was already broken right out of the box. That was very disappointing, especially for a tent at this price point. A premium product should not arrive with damaged parts, and this immediately raised concerns about quality control and long-term durability in wind or rain. I do plan to use the tent for an upcoming camping trip because I don’t have enough time to replace it beforehand, but I intend to return it afterward due to this issue. What buyers should know: * Price vs. Quality: At nearly $400, expectations for quality should be much higher. * Quality Control: Receiving a damaged component in a brand-new tent is unacceptable. * Brand Experience: This was a disappointing first impression and made me question whether the blackout premium is worth paying for. I got this tent so I could sleep in. With my tent before this one once the sun was up there was no sleeping in. And I'm more than satisfied with this tent. It's spacious, dark, and is very very easy to set up. I truly 100% recommend this tent.

The CORE Blackout Instant Cabin Tent is a large family pop-up tent that promises a dark room experience and easy setup, making it an appealing choice for outdoor camping. Here’s a detailed review based on my experience. Blackout Feature The tent definitely lives up to its name when it comes to blocking out sunlight. Once everything is closed up, you can expect a significantly darker environment inside, which is great for sleeping in. However, I encountered an issue with light seeping through the seams where the sewing was done. This raised concerns about potential water leakage, prompting me to return the first tent. Unfortunately, the replacement had the same issue, and since we were beyond the refund period, we had to keep it. I recommend being cautious and ensuring you have the rain cover handy, although it only addresses the top and not the sides where light penetrates. Temperature Control Regarding the claim that the blackout feature keeps the tent cooler, I have to disagree. When fully closed, the tent tends to heat up quickly, similar to how a black car traps heat. This is something to consider if you're camping in warmer weather. Interior Design and Space The tent’s interior is spacious enough to stand and move around comfortably. However, the middle section, which is designed for dividing the space, can be a bit limiting. I wish the storage compartments were placed on the sides instead. This would provide more usable space for air mattresses or sleeping bags. While the storage pockets are a nice touch, they do intrude into the living area, making it feel a bit cramped. Setup and Takedown One of the standout features of this tent is its ease of setup. It’s straightforward and can be done relatively quickly, though I found that it’s much easier with two people. Setting it up alone can be challenging, particularly when raising the center pieces. Takedown is also manageable, but getting the tent back into the bag can be a bit of a struggle due to limited space. Ventilation I wish the side windows extended all the way to the ground for better airflow. Adequate ventilation is essential in a tent, especially during warm nights. Overall Impression While the CORE Blackout Instant Cabin Tent has its merits, such as spaciousness and easy setup, the quality concerns and design limitations make me hesitant to recommend it wholeheartedly. If I had the chance to do it over, I would opt for a more durable tent with better quality assurance against leaks. My advice is to thoroughly check your tent for any pinholes upon receipt to avoid the hassle of returns.
