  • Great tent… some suggestions
Style: 9 Person (Orange)
We borrowed this tent for a family camping trip and loved it so much that we bought the exact same one. I compared it to all of the the other ones within the same size and relative price point and chose this one happily. The good: This tent was very fairly priced and a good deal. It’s huge inside, including a high ceiling. While we didn’t sleep 9 people in this 9 person tent, it was really great for all of us and gear too. I *love* the added touch of the mesh storage loft and the 2 net storage pockets inside. The hanging hook in the center of the ceiling for a lantern is also a great touch! The spacious bag is awesome with plenty of room to pack it back up without having to struggle to squeeze it in like many products out there! One of the big reasons I liked this tent was the huge mesh screens that cover the ceiling and dip down to the corners of the walls. This allowed for a great breeze on the hot summer nights we camped. We didn’t put up the rain fly since there was no rain and needed the airflow. Note that I can’t comment on the waterproofing or water resistance of this tent because of this. My recommendations to improve: It comes with 2 patches but no instructions on how to use them. I'd like to see an option to buy this with aluminum poles. I'm always concerned about the fiberglass ones breaking. This tent would be even better with 2 more mesh storage pockets inside. With a 9 person tent you’d bet that more than 2 pockets would be useful. I’m not complaining, just suggesting to make it even better. I’d also love to see zip up panels to close the “windows” of the mesh ceiling that dips down near the corners of the tent. This would be great for privacy for when you don’t want to put up the actual rain fly that does fully cover it. I’m imagining something similar to the zip up panel that closes the back window and the front window on the door. I would *really love* to see a tent with magnetic closure of the door for quick entries and exits. Let’s face it, this is a 9 person tent and likely kids will be using it. Our kids love to run in and out every minute and the zippers of tents are just annoying - they’re slow to open and fully close each time, they get stuck in the fabric and it’s just a matter of time until they’ll break. I saw something in another tent that talked about a magnetic door closure but turns out it’s only the bottom corner of the door that magnets shut. So close! I’m thinking that good strong magnets could be sewn into the fabric near the edges of the entire door so that they would hold the door basically closed for quick use - this would basically keep out bugs and allow for privacy. And when you want to properly close the door fully then you would use the full zipper. I’m probably going to sew my own magnets in to try it. Wish me luck! ... show more

  • Impressive Protection from the Elements
Style: 9 Person (Orange)
This was a pandemic purchase 3 years ago and after nearly 3 years of use I can confidently say this tent is a solid investment. Most recently, this tent stayed upright and intact without a tear or puncture during a midnight climbing raid by an intrepid trash panda. Said critter was climbing on top of the outside of the tent underneath the rain fly. Pro tip: a flashlight in its face will get it to move on. Secondly, this tent only gets water in the far corners during torrential rains. You and your stuff will stay dry in the middle and this tent does not blow in. I’m a rather fair weather camper, but the few instances of middle of the night pop up storms and downpours haven’t crumpled or flooded this tent yet. Last, this tent is super roomy. Plenty of room for 4 twin air mattresses plus gear. I am 5’5” and can stand comfortably in the middle. With only 4 tent poles, it’s super easy to set up alone. I do wish I had some sort of entryway portico but I saw what I was buying. I didn’t know that was a feature I would want until using this tent over the years. TL;DR This is great tent for the weekend car camping warrior. Dependable, sturdy, easy to set up, and trash panda safe. ... show more

Style: 9 Person (Wine)
This tent is very easy to assemble & take down. We use two queen air mattresses and still have plenty of space.

  • Good budget summer car camping tent for a family
Style: 9 Person (Orange)
The review for this is relative to this being an economy tent. I used to do a lot of tent camping and have a couple higher end two and three person tents to compare this with. This is not a high quality tent that will stand up to years of heavy use. I will get into that later, but first the good things. My kids are now large and somewhat smelly teenagers and and I decided to get a larger tent for a one week summer car camping trip where space and weight was not a consideration. I wanted a tent that would fit a queen air mattress and two twin air mattresses with enough space left for gear and to move around. This tent is cavernous. It fit all three mattresses fine and gear with space to move and some left over. I would not want to be in this with 8 other people, but it a great size for a family of 4. If the weather was bad we could have easily piled up the air mattresses and comfortably sat in the tent playing cards with a standard folding table and camp chairs. I am 5' 8" and my son is 6' 1" and we could walk around it no problem and only needed to stoop a little out toward the wings. The entire top of the tent is mesh. One night we had assured clear weather it was nice to take off the fly and look at the stars. The mesh top also helps keep down condensation, but on the flip side is can be a little breezy and there is basically zero warmth afforded by the structure. This was fine for a summer trip but might be an issue in the spring and fall. There are mesh gear pouches on the inside and a dedicated opening for an extension cord. Didn't use that, but it is there. One feature is is that it has an "air vent", which is a mesh panel near the bottom with a flap so water does not get in. Since the entire top of the tent is mesh and the fly does not fit super tight, I am not sure that this is needed but it is there. After one practice run in the back yard with minimal head scratching, the tent went up in a couple minutes without any trouble with two people. It was easy to take down and I didn't have any problem getting to to roll up and fit back in the included carry bag with the fly and pole bag. One person could set this up by themselves but it was way easier with two. It is a large tent and relatively heavy but not bad given the size. You are not hiking this anywhere but it is great for car camping. It rained lightly two nights. We stayed dry with the fly on but the fly just barely covers the mesh on top and down the sides. If we didn't have the fly securely tided and staked I do think that water would have dripped in. I don't think this would be a great tent in hard rain or high winds. So when I say this is a budget tent this is what I mean...The entire top of the tent is mesh and the mesh is relatively large, particularly compared to high end tents. This kept out the larger bugs but small (luckily non-biting) midges came as went as they please. If we were in an area with aggressive mosquitoes or no-see-um gnats we probably would have been eaten alive. The poles are super cheap. I was surprised when they didn't snap when we put it up. The shock cord is not very taut and the poles come apart when you push and pull them through the nylon sleeves when you set it up. The included tent stakes are minimal and completely inadequate but that is basically the same for every other tent out there. I always use high end aftermarket stakes anyway. The door zipper jammed pretty easily and was not as smooth as you get on better tents. The bottom of the tent is basically plastic tarp material. It held up fine during our trip, but once it rips I doubt it could be repaired like you can with higher end tents. In summary, this is a fine budget tent with some nice features for a summer family care camping trip where there are not a super lot of biting insects. ... show more

Style: 9 Person (Orange)
Hard to assemble for me as I have never camped out before. However, once gotten it assembled it is hugeeee my bestie and I with our siblings so 5 people used it and had so much space. We did a camping in the backyard. Parents didn't allow us to take our little siblings. Do with that as you will
