    • Initial impressions are it's really nice.
This is my second cordless rotary tool, and I also have a wired one. This one is by far a step above the other two in quality. It's actually surprisingly nice. First, when you pick it up it just feels solid and well made. It has some weight to it. Not too heavy, just substantial enough to let you know it has a decent size battery and powerful motor. The exterior of the unit is also quite attractive. It looks sleek. Performance wise, it indeed has a powerful little motor. It ramps up quickly and has a fairly high top speed. I'd say it's just as powerful as my corded unit, maybe even more so. This is because it runs at a much higher voltage than many of the other cordless models. It also has 6 speed adjustments when most others only have 3. This is key for fine tuning the rpms based on what you're using it for. The more speed adjustment the better. The corded units do tend to offer a lot more precise speed adjustment with the free turning potentiometer vs stepped that most cordless use. I do kind of wish the speed control also is what turned the unit on or off. It's a bit awkward to have a separate switch to turn the unit on or off. This can be a bit of a pain because it requires to hands to turn it off. One to hold it and one to flip the switch. I also noticed when turning it off a brake engages which is good for safety purposes, but it really slams to a stop with a loud click. Hopefully it's internals are robust enough to handle these frequent hard stops. It comes with a handy case and several bits and accessories. Included are cutting wheels, cutting bits, sanding wheels, polishing wheels, spare sanding paper, and the tools to install/remove bits. There is also a battery indicator that shows how much of a charge it has. It uses an included USB C cable to charge which is awesome. My other cordless rotary tool uses a proprietary connector for charging which I am not a fan of. If you lose it you have to buy a new one. Everyone has a bunch of USB-C cables these days. Battery life seems good, though I haven't run it long enough to give an accurate assessment. But based on the higher than usual voltage, and the rated capacity, I suspect it will have excellent battery life. It also arrived 75% charged and topped off really quickly. Overall I am really impressed with the quality and design. I look forward to using it on my upcoming projects. We will see if it holds up long term. ... show more

    • Wow. Nice kit!
This is a really nice kit. Better than I expected. The rotary tool itself has a nice feel to it in the hand. It is easy to hold and it doesn't have a strong inertial twist when turning it on and off. It seems to be powerful enough for the size of bits that will be used with it. It has a good range of speed settings to meet any needs the job might require. The manufacturing appears good with clean lines and tight fitting of parts. It has an interesting chuck design which makes it really easy to change bits. It automatically locks when the power is off, so you can quickly loosen and remove one bit and install another one and tighten. Gone are the days of pushing in and holding the spinkle lock and fumbling with the wrench, wishing you had a third hand. The kit comes with a nice case to hold the tool and all of the accessories. The range of accessories is good, covering most of what a rotary tool of this kind will be used for. There are also two different chuck sizes so you can use bits from different makers, etc. I have an older plug-in style Dremel rotary tool which I have owned for years. This one works just as well, and the convenience of it being cordless is a huge plus, especially for a quick job. Just grab the tool, install the bit and get the job done.
