I think this is an alright tool but the battery life isn’t the greatest and I wish the accessories, like the red sanding prices, were more durable or that they were like the metal ones that are reusable. It is easy to use and I like that you can alter the speed of the rotary device.

The media could not be loaded. I originally gave this product a five star review, but the motor quit on me one month after the return window. The unit charges but I think the motor is kaput. I only gave the product light use, usually on the lowest speed and for short periods of time. The seller asked for a video outlining the problem, although I am not sure what the video adds to my description. I uploaded a video to an online site and sent them the link, because my email limits the size files I can send. Still waiting to hear from them. To be fair, it’s only been a few days. I hope they can offer a solution because I loved this product when it worked. They replaced the unit at no charge, 5 star review reinstated ... show more

    • Disappointing Durability: Apex 3.7/v Cordless Rotary Tool Review
I initially gave the Apex 3.7/v cordless rotary tool a 5-star rating for its convenience and keyless chuck, but my experience over the past few months has been less than satisfactory. After just 2 months of use, the button designed to stop the shaft from rotating for bit changes broke, significantly impacting the tool's functionality. Additionally, there is a persistent and bothersome rattling noise that suggests loose screws within the tool. This not only affects the overall user experience but also raises concerns about the tool's build quality and long-term durability. To make matters worse, after a mere 6 months of ownership, the motor now emits a disconcerting sound that hints at a potential seizure. This unexpected issue jeopardizes the tool's reliability and raises serious doubts about its longevity. Despite the promising features, the Apex 3.7/v has failed to meet my expectations in terms of durability, and the combination of these issues compels me to reconsider my initial rating. Unfortunately, what initially seemed like a reliable rotary tool has proven to be unreliable and prone to significant malfunctions within a short period. I've adjusted my rating accordingly, from an initial 5 stars to 2 stars after 2 months, and now down to a negative 3 stars due to ongoing issues that undermine the tool's overall performance and value. I don't know if Amazon or the Apex company get notified if I update this review but I haven't even owned my rotary tool for a whole year yet and it's so worn out the motor is about to seize up and I wanted people to know about it before they buy it and Get let down like I have thank you ... show more

I’ve had a lot of issues with cordless rotary tools for my job, where we use them to smooth out nails on the dogs. I have either had to pay over $100 for a rotary tool that stopped working after a large dog knocked it over onto the floor, or it just stopped working after two weeks of use, or it had no battery life. So, in a last ditch effort to find a good rotary tool that wasn’t too expensive, should it get thrown onto the floor for whatever reason, I bought this tool. I’m really glad I did because it’s very light to hold, and has a good battery life. And I have to put it on high to use it, but that’s what I expected because it is not a heavy duty tool. It also has a longer warranty than any of the other tools I have bought, which gives me comfort because collateral damage is common in my field of work! ... show more
