This "beanbag" chair has a velvety/plush cover that unzips and is very soft which is comfortable. Being able to remove it to clean it is useful, but I would suggest probably hand wash and air dry to not lose that plushy quality. There are no beans or small foam filling, it seems to be more of larger balls of batting or foam. I can't completely tell since I didn't want to rip open the interior encasement. It is pretty dense, but fluffy. My husband sinks far more than I do and says he feels like he is at max capacity for where it really should be before you may hit the floor at about 195-200lbs. I kinda float on it and love it at 138lbs. The color is dark and pigmented and looks as pictured in the dark green. There was no smell that I noted, but we opened and let it sit while we went out of town for a week so that it could fully open up. It seems heavy duty and like it will last, so it is definitely a good value for what you get. I only knocked it down a star because I feel like calling it isnt quite the same as a traditional style of beanbag. ... show more

My son is a tall 5 year old and he loves this chair. You do need to take it apart and fluff it but that’s super easy. I can Sit in it comfortable. It’s a great deal. Perfect size for his whole body or a good seat for me as an adult. The cover is very soft and doesn’t have any weird smells.
