Mine came without a solder pencil tip because the package arrived opened but taped up. I used a 10-32 threaded solder tip from another solder iron I had. You need to start the gas with about 20% to get the element to ignite inside the housing. Once the flame shifts from outside the chamber to the internal wick it's game on. Works very well if you find the gas valve sweet spot. I use a butane cigarette lighter to start it up. The mostly clear fuel tank is the best so you know your level. Tighten things down ever so slightly more than finger tight with pliers but don't go nutz cranking on it. For $13, I may get another one. ... show more

Did used to be made with a little stand that you could flip over and to turn on the gas you used to push a little button up and over that would lock into place. Now it just turns around the thing and is not secure. Can easily be turned on when you don’t want it to be turned on

Worked great at first and then about 2 weeks in it breaks and releases all butane as you fill it spraying it everywhere and now can't be refilled.

It does not have a function to liight itself making it useless unless you have a lighter or match. Very dissapointed for the price I can buy 3 or 4 crackhead lighters at the corner convenience store that will work better.
