I needed this impact wrench to get a 5-year-old anode rod out of a water heater. I had heard/seen horror stories of folks trying to remove these things without the right tools. I knew I didn't want to spend too much and it was important that the tool be compatible with the DeWalt system, since all of my major tools are DeWalt 20v. This one fit the bill. The unit is a bit heavy, but not unwieldy. It was not hard to get the socket in place and it worked like a charm. The rod came broke free after a couple of trigger pulls and I was able to get the thing out. From the appearance of the threads, it was pretty much corroded in. The LED light on the unit was useful in illuminating the area as I worked on it. I am sure I will find many more uses for this tool - rotating tires, etc. Very happy with this purchase.

Excels at maximum torque. Good balance, heavy without the battery. Recommend using a 5-8 amp Dewalt Battery. Very happy with purchase after first use.

I have only tested it on wheel lug nuts. I just received it. It seems sturdy and well made. Fits nicely in my hand. The DeWalt batteries work as stated. At this point I am very satisfied with this tool. I will know if its a keeper in a few weeks as I use it.

I have used this thing for a couple of months now. It empresses me with the power and abuse it takes daily. Highly recommend for any industrial maintenance or crane tech, where you need power sometimes. Although looks kinda bulky it is not super heavy. It is durable has been dropped off scissor lift and keeps on going.

I had an older brushed DeWalt 20v impact that needed new brushes and wasn't very powerful anymore. Prices of new ones have gone up significantly (like everything thing else these days!), so I thought I'd give this knockoff impact a try. Figured it said it was rated to 900 ft lbs so even if it did half that it would be acceptable. I received it and it was heavier than my old one, heavier than a DeWalt brushless. I tried taking off the lug nuts on my truck which were torqued to 120 ft lbs, I was surprised when it struggled on the highest setting and could not break them loose. I took it over to my car to try to break those loose (torqued to 90 ft lbs), and nope couldn't do it either. Tried a few different nuts and after letting it try for several seconds it finally broke one loose but then cut out like it was overloading and it was cutting the power. All of this testing was done with a fully charged known good 5ah OEM DeWalt 20v battery. Returned this and bought an open box DeWalt brushless for about twice the price of this one - but it works and does what it should! Maybe I got a faulty one, but I didn't want to waste more time trying another one. Returned right away. Don't recommend
